CC RESOLUTION 3475RESOLUTION NO. 3475 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, TO PROVIDE ALL NEW SERVICE STATIONS TO INCLUDE RESTROOM FACILITIES FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. WHEREAS, over the past few years the major oil companies have begun converting their gasoline service station outlets to largely self - service operations, some of which include mini - markets as well; and • WHEREAS, many such operations have stopped providing restroom facilities for their customers; and • F" L.A" WHEREAS, said practice is not only an inconvenience, especially for families traveling with children, but also affects public health and sanitation inasmuch as it deprives travelers of a place to attend to hygiene needs, health problems, or to administer medication. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, on behalf of its citizens, directs that all service stations or other establishments selling gasoline or other motor vehicle fuel to the public, which are constructed after the effective date of this resolution, shall have available clean and operating restroom facilities consisting of at least one water closet and one lavatory. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said city; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the record of the proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
