A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AND
ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING
JULY 11 1987 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1988.
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of Finance
of the City of E1 Segundo, California, have heretofore presented
• to the City Council of said City a proposed budget for the above
period; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did modify, correct, amend
and change said proposed budget for the period; and
WHEREAS, said City Council, on due public notice, did
hold a public hearing before said Council on Tuesday, June 16,
1987, at which time and in the Council Chamber in the City Hall,
said proposed budget as modified, corrected, amended and changed,
and matters pertaining thereto were heard and considered; and
WHEREAS, said City Council has now considered the said
proposed budget as so submitted and all evidence adduced at said
public hearing, with reference thereto, and has now made all
changes and amendments thereto which said City Council up to this
time desires to make therein; and
WHEREAS, the original of said proposed budget has now
been revised so as to reflect each and all of the amendments,
changes and modifications which the City Council up to the time
of the adoption of this resolution, believes should be made in
said proposed budget as so submitted;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL
SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
• SECTION 1. That the original of the said proposed
budget of the City of El Segundo, California, for the period
1987 -88 as so submitted, amended, modified and corrected, and
which as so submitted, amended, modified and corrected is now
before this

so on file the same be and it is hereby

and by this
reference expressly incorporated herein
and made a
part hereof.
SECTION 2. That the said City Council of said City of
El Segundo, California, does hereby approve and adopt the said
proposed budget for the period 1987 -88 as so amended, modified
and corrected. In adopting said budget, the City Council intends
to and by this section does adopt and approve the total figures
shown on the summary pages entitled "Basic and Supplemental
Summary" for each account under the column head of "1987 -88
• Council Approved" for each of the various departments and
accounts set forth in said budget. It approves the distribution
of the salary detail, materials and supplies details, other
charges detail, and captial outlay detail shown under each of
the respective departments and each of the respective accounts
in said proposed budget does hereby authorize the City Manager
to transfer between the respective accounts in salaries,
materials and supplies, other charges, and capital outlay with-
in any department in an amount not to exceed in any one year the
sum of $5,000; provided, however, that in no event shall such
transfers be made to increase the total amount approved for
salaries in any one department or account by more than the sum
of $5,000, or the total amount approved for capital outlay in
any one department by more than the sum of $5,000; nor shall
the total budget in any one department or account exceed the
it amount shown under the column headed "1987 -88 Council Approved"
for salaries, materials and supplies, other charges and capital
outlay.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager may, at his discretion,
transfer an amount not to exceed the sum of $5,000 from the

SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same
in the book of original resolutions of said City, and shall
make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records
of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the
minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
