CC RESOLUTION 3362iiLl 14 F; RESOLUTION NO. 3362 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN RECORDS IN THE PUBLIC LIBRARY. WHEREAS, there is presented to the City Attorney the following Inter - Departmental Correspondence for approval and forwarding to the City Council: "January 20, 1986 TO: Lee Dolley, City Attorney FROM: Barbara L. Kirby, Library Director SUBJECT: Destruction of Records The following records have been pulled for destruction following our previous purging by Resolution 3249 dated February 9, 1984: 1. Fine transmittal forms 7/81 - 7/83 2. Sale of discards receipts 7/81 - 7/83 3. Copy machine receipts 7/81 - 7/83 4. Non- resident fee receipts 7/81 - 7/83 5. Lost book (partial paid) receipts 7/77 - 7/81 6. Lost book (paid) receipts 7/77 - 7/81 7. Cash register tapes prior to 7/01/85 8. Expired registration cards prior to 1/81 9. Invoices prior to 2/84 10. Team management minutes prior to 1/85 11. Purchase orders prior to 7/83 12. Duplicate personnel records of former employees (originals are retained permanently by the Personnel Office) 13. Postage receipts prior to 1/85 Respectfully Submitted, 4 Barbara L. Kirby Library Director J:020486 -2.LIB In accordance with the provisions of Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State of California, the City Attorney hereby gives his written consent o ,,the destruction of the foregoing records. eCl'a C . 1 ey City Attorn ', an WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the records hereinabove referred to are of no further value to the City of E1 Segundo, and that they occupy badly needed storage space; and, I� WHEREAS, the City Attorney has, in accordance with the provisions of Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State of California, consented to the destruction of said records and documents; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Library Director is hereby authorized and granted authority to dispose of the hereinabove described and set forth records by causing the same to be destroyed in a lawful manner. SECTION 2. Upon destruction of the foregoing records, the Library Director shall make a certificate of complete destruction of said records and file the original of the same in the office of the City Clerk and file a copy of said certificate together with a certified copy of this resolution in his /her office. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said city; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
