CC RESOLUTION 3290s Z_4 RESOLUTION NO. 3290 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTIONS 1A5.010, 1A5.0201 1A5.023, 1A5.0251 AND 1A5.240 OF CHAPTER 1A5 (POLICE SAFETY SERIES) OF THE EL SEGUNDO ADMIN- ISTRATIVE CODE; DELETING SECTION 1A2.147 AND ADDING A NEW SECTION 1A2.137.1 TO CHAPTER 1A2 (MANAGEMENT - CONFIDENTIAL SERIES) OF THE EL SEGUNDO ADMINISTRATIVE CODE; DELETING SECTION 1A6.160 OF CHAPTER 1A6 (GENERAL RULES) AND ADDING A NEW SECTION 1A4.150.1 TO CHAPTER 1A4 (FIRE SAFETY SERIES) OF THE EL SEGUNDO ADMINISTRA- TIVE CODE, TITLE 1A. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Sections 1A5.010, 1A5.020, 1A5.023, 1A5.025, and 1A5.240 of Chapter 1A5 (POLICE SAFETY SERIES) of TITLE lA of the E1 Segundo Administrative Code are herewith amended in their entirety to read as per Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as though set forth in full and at length. SECTION 2. Section 1A2.147 of Chapter 1A2 (MANAGEMENT- CONFIDENTIAL SERIES) of TITLE lA of the El Segundo Administrative Code is herewith deleted in its entirety. SECTION 3. Section 1A2.137.1 of Chapter 1A2 (MANAGEMENT- CONFIDENTIAL SERIES) of TITLE lA of the E1 Segundo Administrative Code is herewith added, to read as follows: "SECTION 1A2.137.1. PERSONAL LEAVE /FLOATING HOLIDAY. In Addition to the holidays enumerated in Section 1A3.100, each employee who has completed six (6) months of service shall be entitled to select one (1) day per calendar year as a Personal Leave /Floating Holiday with the approval of the employee's super- visor after a minimum of seven (7) days prior notice." SECTION 4. Section 1A6.160 of Chapter 1A6 (GENERAL RULES) of TITLE lA of the El Segundo Administrative Code is herewith deleted in its entirety. SECTION 5. Section 1A4.150.1 of Chapter 1A4 (FIRE SAFETY SERIES) of TITLE lA of the El Segundo Administrative Code is herewith added, to read as follows: "SECTION 1A4.150.1. EMERGENCY LEAVE -- FAMILY ILLNESS. Employees may use accumulated Sick Leave as Emergency Leave for short periods in case of serious illness in the immediate family of the employee or employee's spouse. A maximum of three (3) days of Emergency Leave may be granted in case of a death in the imme- diate family of the employee or employee's spouse. A doctor's certificate stating the nature of the illness of the immediate family of the employee or employee's spouse, or proof of death may be required before -1- 0 0 absence for these reasons shall be charged to Emergency Leave. Emergency Leave of a maximum of three (3) days may also be granted in cases of extreme and unusual hardship of an emergency nature. For the purpose of this section, "immediate family" means spouse, child, mother, father, or sibling." SECTION 6. All resolutions and orders of the City Council heretofore passed and adopted with reference to the same, or any of the matters and subjects hereinabove set forth or referred to, are hereby rescinded insofar as the same conflict with the provisions hereof. SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said city; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. UNIFORM AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT ALLOWANCES. iPolice Department employees who are required to purchase and continuously maintain prescribed items of uniform clothing, personal equipment and safety equipment shall be compensated for a portion of the initial and maintenance costs thereof according to the following: 1. a. Police Officers assigned to motorcycle duty -- $45.00 per month of active duty. b. Police Detectives and others who normally wear civilian clothes on duty, but are required to maintain uniforms -- $25.00 per month of active duty. C. All other Police Officers -- $35.00 per month of active duty. 2. Newly appointed Police Officers entering the service of the Police Department under the Lateral Entry Program and newly appointed Police Officers who possess a P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate shall be provided with uniform allowances at the time of appointment and thereafter as follows: a. At the time of appointment -- 150% of annual allowance. b. At first anniversary of appointment -- 50% of annual allowance. C. After first anniversary --- 100% of monthly allowance.
