CC RESOLUTION 31800 0 RESOLUTION N0. 3180 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY OF EL SEGUNDO ON THE 2ND DAY OF NOVEMBER 1982; DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. WHEREAS, a special Municipal Election was consolidated with the statewide General Election held and conducted in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of November 1982, as required by law; and WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in cities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 3163 adopted the 3rd day of August, 1982, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles canvassed the returns of said election and has certified the results to this City Council, said results are received, attached and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A." NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That there were fifteen voting precincts established for the purpose of holding said election consisting of the regular election precincts in the City of El Segundo as established for the holding of state and county elections. SECTION 2, That said Special Municipal Election was held for the purpose of submitting the following measure to the electors of the City, to wit: ----------------------------- ----------- . Shall an ordinance be adopted which changes the City's appropriations limit for the fiscal year 1980 -1981 YES and which provides that the $2,345,538 effected thereby be placed in a special account to be expended only NO as directed by the voters? ----------------- - - - - --------------- ------- : . -- Shall an ordinance be adopted which changes the City's appropriations YES limit for the fiscal year 1980 -1981 y-------- L-- - - - - -y and which provides that the $2,345,538 effected thereby be placed in a N0 special account to be expended only as directed by the voters? That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given in the City for and against the measure were as listed in Exhibit "A" attached. SECTION 5. The City Council does declare and determine that as a result of said election, a majority of the qualified voters voting on: Shall an ordinance be adopted which changes the City's appropriations YES limit for the fiscal year 1980 -1981 and which provides that the $2,345,538 1-- - - - - -- -- - - - - -t effected thereby be placed in a NO special account to be expended only as directed by the voters? did vote in favor thereof, and that said proposition was carried and shall be deemed adopted and ratified. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of said City, a statement of the result of said election, showing: (1) The whole number of ballots cast in the city; (2) The measure voted upon; (3) The number of votes given at each precinct for and against the measure, (4) The number of votes given in the city for and against the measure. -2- SECTION 3. That the whole number of Ballots cast in - said City (except absent voter ballots) was 5687 . That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in said City was 388 making a total of 6,075 Ballots cast in said City. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said city; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceed- ings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
