RESOLUTION NO. 3085
• A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR.
INCREASED COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS FOR
CERTAIN EMPLOYEES IN THE POLICE SAFETY SERVICE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of the El Segundo
Administrative Code, upon and after July 11, 1981, persons assigned to the
positions of:
Police Lieutenant
Police Sergeant
Police Officer and
Police Service Officer
shall be compensated above the rates established in the El Segundo Administrative
Code for those positions as follows:
Ten percent (1070) increase in regular pay, deferred
pay and total pay; provided, however, that when the
Administrative Code is amended to reflect this change,
it will be reflected that the deferred pay is a flat dollar
amount equal to 7. 5 percent of the total pay.
Police Service Officer: Six and one /half percent
(6. 5 %) increase in regular pay, deferred pay and
total pay; provided, however, that when the Adminis-
trative Code is amended to reflect this change, it
will be reflected that the deferred pay is a flat dollar
amount equal to 6 percent of the total pay.
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of the El Segundo
Administrative Code, effective with the payroll deduction made for coverage
for the month of August, 191, the City shall provide for all sworn personnel,
Police Service Officers and Police Cadets of the police service enumerated in
Section 1A5.030 of the El Segundo Administrative Code a contribution toward
employee and dependents' health premiums in a sum equal to 907, of the
employee and dependents' health premium, or $215.00 per month maximum;
provided, hwever, that employees who have single employee coverage shall
` be provided with payment of health premiums in full, or a maximum of $215.00
per month, whichever is lesser. In addition to the foregoing and notwithstanding
the other provisions of the Administrative Code, the City will provide dental
coverage premium to a maximum of $9. 78 per month per employee.
• SECTION 3. Notwithstanding the provisions of the El Segundo
Administrative Code, Police Officers who are assigned as Field Training
Officers for probationary Police Officers shall be entitled, on and after
July 11, 1981, to the sum of $85.00 per month while functioning in the capacity
of a Field Training Officer; provided, however, that where such assignment
continues during only part of a pay period, the special allowance provided by
this section shall be prorated.
SECTION 4. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 1A5.050
of the Administrative Code, upon and after July 11, 1981, all members of the
police service assigned to motorcycle duty shall no longer receive the b °nefit
provided in Section 1A5.050, but instead shall receive the sum of $175.00
per month while serving in such capacity, except whenever any affected
employee has been absent because of a disability resulting from an illness or
injury occurring outside of the course and scope of his /her employment for a
period of 30 consecutive calendar days, the city may, commencing the 31st
consecutive day of such absence, terminate any hazard pay bonus to which the
employee would have been entitled had he been performing his regular duties.
SECTION 5. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 1A5.045
of the Administrative Code, upon and after July 11, 1981, Police Officers
temporarily assigned as Detectives or to other special assignments which may
be approved by the City Manager from time to time, shall be compensated the
sum of $150.00 per month in lieu of and instead of the sum provided in Section
1A5.045 of the Administrative Code. Said $150.00 shall be prorated during any
pay period that the employee does not serve in such capacity during the entire
pay period.
SECTION 6. All resolutions and orders of the City Council heretofore
passed and adopted with reference to the same, or any of the matters and subjects
• hereinabove set forth or referred to, are hereby rescinded insofar as the same
conflict with the provisions hereof.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said

city; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the
records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of
the proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting
at which the same is passed and adopted.
