RESOLUTION NO. 3080
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIAr CALLING AND GIVING
NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAYr
SEPTEMBER 25, 1981 FOR THE SUBMISSION TO
THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID CITY AN ORDI-
NANCE RELATING TO A CHANGE OF ZONE FROM
PUBLIC FACILITIES TO PLANNED RESIDENTIAL
DEVELOPMENT FOR THE VACATED IMPERIAL STREET
SCHOOL SITE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, did on May 5, 1981, duly adopt Ordinance No. 1004
providing for a change of zone from Public Facilities to Planned
Residential Development for certain described property hereinafter
referred to as the Imperial Street School Site; and
WHEREAS, the said Ordinance was duly published as
required by law; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority provided by statute
a petition has been filed with the legislative body of said city
signed by more than ten percent of the number of qualified registered
voters of said city protesting the adoption of the hereinabove
ordinance referred to; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of said city has duly examined
and from the records of registration ascertained that the petition
is signed by the requisite number of voters, and has so certified;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of said city has not voted
in favor of the repeal of the ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of said city is thereupon
authorized and directed by statute to submit the Ordinance to
the qualified voters;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL
SEGUNDOr CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVEr DECLARE, DETERMINE
AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the

• laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities
within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called
and ordered held in the City of E1 Segundo, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, on Tuesday, September 29, , 1981 a
Special Municipal Election of the qualified electors of said
City for the purpose of submitting the following proposed ordi-
nance, to wit:
.SHALL ORDINANCE NO. 1004 PERMITTING THE YES
.DEVELOPMENT OF 92 RESIDENTIAL UNITS ON THE ,
.VACATED IMPERIAL SCHOOL SITE BE ADOPTED? NO
SECTION 2. The proposed ordinance submitted to the
voters is as follows:
"ORDINANCE NO. 1004
"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 20 (THE COMPRE-
HENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE) OF THE EL SEGUNDO
MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP
REFERRED TO IN SECTION 20.16.030 OF SAID
CODE. (3 -80)
"THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
"SECTION 1. That Title 20 (The Comprehensive Zoning
Ordinance) of the "E1 Segundo Municipal Code," and in particular
the "Zoning Map of the City of El Segundo" on file in the Planning
Department, be and the same is hereby amended by reclassifying
and rezoning in the manner hereinafter set forth, the following
described real property located within the City of E1 Segundo,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, to wit:
All that portion of Block 102, E1 Segundo Sheet No.
4, as recorded in Book 20, Page 24 of Maps in the
. office of the County Recorder, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, described as follows:
All of Lots 1, 2 and 3 and the northerly
205 feet of Lot 6; and the northerly 182.40
feet of Lot 7; and the northerly 186 feet
of Lot 8,

from Public Facilities (P -F) Zone to Planned Residential Develop-
ment (PRD) Zone.
"SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective
at midnight on the thirtieth day from and after date of final
passage and adoption thereof.
"SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify the passage
and adoption of this ordinance; shall cause the same to be entered
in the book of original ordinances of said city; shall make a
minute of the passage and.adoption thereof in the records of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted; and shall
within fifteen days after the passage and adoption thereof, cause
the same to be published once in the El Segundo Herald, a weekly
newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated within
said City of El Segundo and which is hereby designated for that
purpose.

SECTION 3. That the ballots to be used at said election
shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such
as may be required by law to be used thereat.
SECTION 4. That the polls for said election shall
be open at seven o'clock a.m. of the day of said election and
shall remain open continuously from said time until 7:00 o'clock
p.m. of the same day when said polls shall be closed, except
as provided in Section 14301 of the Elections Code of the State
of California,
SECTION 5. That in all particulars not recited in

this Resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as
provided by law for holding municipal elections in said City.
SECTION 6. That notice of the time and place of holding
said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized,
instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice
of said election in time, form and manner as required by law.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the
book of original resolutions of said city; and shall make a
minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of
the proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes
of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
SECTION 8. That this Resolution shall take effect
immediately.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 7th day of
