CC RESOLUTION 3048V -13361 RESOLUTION NO. 3048 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN RECORDS IN THE PUBLIC LIBRARY. WHEREAS, there is presented to this Council the follow- ing letter: January 30, 1981 Honorable Mayor and City Council City of El Segundo California Gentlemen: In accordance with the provisions of Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State of California, I intend to destroy the following records: 1. Original copies of Departmental Deposit Trans- mittal Forms submitted to the City Treasurer as income: A. Sale of discarded books 7/77 - 12/78; B. Non - resident fees 7/77 - 12/78; C. Vending machine income 7/77 - 12/78; D. Lost books paid for prior to 1973. 2. Original registration cards: A. Juvenile and adult registration cards which expired 1973 and all prior years; B. All annual non - resident cards prior to 1978; C. All annual business cards prior to 1978; D. All annual special teacher and student cards prior to school year 1979 -80. 3. Cash register tapes prior to the 1978 -1979 FY. 4. Miscellaneous requisitions prior to 12/78. The foregoing records are no longer required for the operation of the Public Library, are not records affecting the title of real property or liens thereon, are not court records, are not required to be kept by statute, are not less than two years old, nor is any entry thereon less than two years old, are not minutes, ordinances or resolutions of the legislative body or of a city board or commission. Allen, Jr. City Attorney WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the records here- inabove referred to are of no further value to the City of El Segundo, and that they occupy badly needed storage space; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney has, in accordance with the provisions of Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State of California, consented to the destruction of said records and documents; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City Librarian is hereby authorized and granted authority to dispose of the hereinabove described and set forth records by causing the same to be destroyed in a lawful manner. SECTION 2. Upon destruction of the foregoing records, the City Librarian shall make a certificate of complete destruc- tion of said records and file the original of the same in the office of the City Clerk and file a copy of said certificate together with a certified copy of this resolution in his /her office. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adop- tion of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter, the same shall be in full force and effect.
