CC RESOLUTION 2902e� {� S t2i RESOLUTION NO. 29.02 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTIONS 1A5.010, 1A5.020 AND 1A5.030 OF CHAPTER 1A5 OF TITLE lA OF THE EL SEGUNDO ADMINISTRATIVE CODE. WHEREAS, on June 26, 1976, the City entered into a Memo- randum of Understanding with the E1 Segundo Police Officers' Asso- ciation for the period' beginning July 3, 1976 and ending June 30, 1979; and WHEREAS, on June 20, 1978, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2861, implementing a five percent salary increase for certain employees enumerated in Chapter 1A5 of the El Segundo Administrative Code for the period commencing July 1, 1978 and ending June 30, 1979, and, in addition, provided $15.00 a month up to a total of $85.96 a month for health and medical insurance, pursuant to said Memorandum of Understanding; and WHEREAS, on July 5, 1978, the City Council, pursuant to the purported authority of Chapter 292 of the Statutes of 1978, rescinded its action by the adoption of Resolution No. 2864; and WHEREAS, the California Supreme Court in Sonoma Organiza- tion of Public Employees v. County of Sonoma et al., has held the portion of Chapter 292 relied upon invalid; NOW, THEREFORE, IN RE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ACTION HERETO- FORE TAKEN ON JUNE 20, 1978, THE CITY COUNCIL DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Sections 1A5.010, 1A5.020 and 1A5.030 of Chapter 1A5 of Title lA of the E1 Segundo Administrative Code adopted by Resolution No. 2620, as amended, are amended to read as follows: SECTION 1A5.010 BASIC SALARY SCHEDULE. That except as hereinafter specifically provided and subject to the other provi- sions of this resolution, each employee in the Police Service enumerated in this Chapter other than those participating in the r� L_J 0 Educational Incentive Pay Program shall be entitled to receive for his or her services in his or her position the applicable rate of compensation shown in the following basic salary schedule pre- scribed for the class in which his or her position is allocated, for the period commencing July 1, 1978 and ending June 30, 1979, to wit: BASIC SALARY SCHEDULE POLICE SAFETY SERIES Police Officer Trainee 1125 SECTION 1A5.020 EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PAY SALARY SCHEDULES. (A) Commencing July 1, 1978 and ending June 30, 1979, all sworn personnel of the police service enumerated in this Chap- ter to whom the Educational Incentive Pay Program is applicable and who have obtained a P.O.S.T. Intermediate Certificate shall receive for his or her services compensation, at the grade and step to which they are entitled by classification and length of service, in accordance with the following salary schedule: P.O.S.T. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said city; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
