RESOLUTION NO. 2891 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 1A3.020 OF CHAPTER lA3 (GENERAL GOVERNMENT SERIES) OF TITLE 1A OF THE EL SEGUNDO ADMINIS- TRATIVE CODE. WHEREAS, the City's contract with the County of Los ,Angeles concerning CETA (Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973) employees provides that the City hall Y pay the minimum wage; and WHEREAS, the minimum wage was raised the first day of January„ 1979; and WHEREAS, the City has received a letter dated January 26, 1979, from the Administrative Adviser to the State Controller which provides,in part, as follows: "We agree with your position that Government Code 516280 was not intended to preclude a city from contin- uing a practice of paying the prevailing minimum wage to any of its employees. Accordingly, increasing non - CETA employees, as well as CETA employees, to the new level of $2.90 per hour will not affect E1 Segundo's eligibility to receive state 'bailout' monies." NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 1A3.020 of Chapter lA3 of Title 1A of the E1 Segundo Administrative Code adopted by Resolution No. 2620, as amended, is amended to read as follows: SECTION 1A3.020 PART -TIME TEMPORARY PERSONNEL. Part - time temporary personnel shall receive for his or her services com- pensation at an hourly rate as hereinafter set forth: SALARY RANGE Classification 300 hrs. or 600 hrs. Start 6 or months 1 year GARAGE SERVICE WORKER $2.90 $ - - $ LIBRARY PAGE 2.90 LOCKER ROOM ATTENDANT Pool. 2.90 3.00 3.00 12 I rd's l J . The changes provided in this resolution shall be effective retroactive to January 1, 1979. SECTION 3. All resolutions and orders of the City Coun- cil heretofore passed and adopted with reference to the same, or any of the matters and subjects hereinabove set forth or referred to, are hereby rescinded insofar as the same conflict with the provisions hereof. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said city; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
