CC RESOLUTION 28170 RESOLUTION NO. 2817 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORI- ZING THE DESTRUCTION OF' CERTAIN RECORDS IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. WHEREAS, there is presented to this Council the following letter: October 18, 1977 iHonorable Mayor and City Council City of E1 Segundo California Gentlemen: In accordance with the provisions of Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State of California, I intend to destroy the following records: All copies of parking citations, 1971 through 1972 All copies of moving citations, 197l.through 1972 All copies of El Segundo Miscellaneous Citations, 1966 through 1972 All copies of Southern California Humane Society Citations, 1965 through 1972 Incident Control Reports, 1970 through 1972 Inter - Departmental Traffic Statistical Memos - Officer's Opinion of Traffic Collision Reports, 1969 through 1972 Petty Cash Records - 1963 through 1972 Receipts for sale of Traffic Accident Reports 1963 through 1970 Receipts for sale of Bicycle Licenses 1962 through 1966 Receipts for Deposit of Witness Fees, Civil Cases June, 1964 - October, 1971 Ambulance Invoices 1962 - 1968 The foregoing records are no longer required for the operation of the Police Department, are not records affecting the title of real property or liens thereon, are not court .records, are not required to be kept by statute, are not less than two years old, nor is any entry thereon less than two years old, are not minutes, ordinances or resolutions of the legislative body or of a city board or commission. C 'e of Police In accordance with the provisions of Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State of California, the City Attorney hereby gives his written consent to the destruction of the foregoing records. ��� e Mark C. Allen, Jr. % City Attorney WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the records hereinabove referred to are of no further value to the City of El Segundo, and that they occupy badly needed storage space; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney has, in accordance with the provisions of Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State of California, consented to the destruction of said records • and documents; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the Chief of Police is hereby authorized and granted authority to dispose of the herein above - described and set forth records by causing the same to be destroyed in a lawful manner. SECTION 2. Upon destruction of the foregoing records, the Chief of Police shall make a certificate of complete destruction of said records and file the original of the same in the office of the City Clerk and file a copy of said certificate together with a certified copy of this resolution in .his office. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter, the same shall be in full force and effect.
