A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORI-
ZING PARTICIPATION IN THE SOUTH BAY
BURGLARY PREVENTION CANINE PROGRAM ON
BEHALF OF THE SOUTH BAY CHIEFS OF POLICE,
WHEREAS, the City of El Segundo, California desires
to participate in a certain project designated the 'South Bay
Streets Act of 1968, PL 90 -351, as amended, (hereinafter referred
to as the Crime Control Act) and administered by the Office
of Criminal Justice Planning; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Criminal Justice Planning has
been organized to administer the funds appropriated by Congress
and allocated for use in California under the provisions of
the law; and
WHEREAS, the Southern California Association of Govern-
ments has been designated as the Regional Advisory Board for
Region R including the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area; and
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles Regional Criminal Justice
Planning Board has been organized and has published a Regional
Criminal Justice Master Plan for Region R; and
WHEREAS, the City of Inglewood, on behalf of the cities
and the Chiefs of Police of the South Bay Regional area, sub-
mitted an application for a grant of two hundred eighteen thousand
dollars ($218,000) to fund a crime- specific burglary program
entitled the "South Bay Burglary Prevention Canine Program "; and
WHEREAS, no assessment of matching funds has been
0 allocated to the City of El Segundo or is required for its
participation.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of El
Segundo, California does resolve as follows:
1, That the City Council agrees to participate in the
proposed "South Bay Burglary Prevention Canine Program ".

2. That the City Manager or his authorized representative
is herewith designated as the City's representative
in the conduct of the "South Bay Burglary Prevention
Canine Program" and is authorized to furnish information,
execute documents, and perform associated administrative
functions within the scope of authority granted by
this resolution.
3. That the United States of America and the State of
California be, and thereby are assured of full compliance
by the City Of El Segundo with Title VI of the Civil
Rights Act Of 1964.
