CC RESOLUTION 2605117 �711 RESOLUTION NO.' 2605 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE SOUTH BAY CHIEFS OF POLICE, WHEREAS, the City of El Segundo, California desires to participate in a certain project designated South Bay Regional Burglary Team to be funded in part from funds made available through the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, PL90 -355, as amended, PL91 -644, (hereafter referred to as the Safe Streets Act) administered by the California Office of Criminal Justice Planning; and WHEREAS, the California Office of Criminal Justice Planning has been organized to administer the funds appropriated by Congress and allocated for use in California under the provisions of the law; and WHEREAS, the Southern California Association of Governments has been designated as the Regional Advisory Board for Region R including the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area; and WHEREAS, the Los Angeles Regional Criminal Justice Planning Board has been organized and has published a Regional Criminal Justice Master Plan for Region R; and WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach, on behalf of the cities of Culver City, Inglewood, Santa Monica, E1 Segundo, Hawthorne, Redondo Beach, Torrance, Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills Estates. Manhattan Beach, Lawndate, Gardena, Hermosa Beach and Lomita submitted an application for a grant of $694, 444. 00 to fund a Crime Specific - Burglary Program entitled South Bay Regional Burglary Team; and WHEREAS, the sum of $704. 85 has been assessed of the City of El Segundo for the hard cash matching funds requirement, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, DOES RESOLVE as follows; 1. That the City Council agrees to participate in the proposed South Bay Regional Burglary Team to accept its share of the grant, and to provide the City's share of hard -cash matching funds which has been determined to be a sum equal to $704. 85. 2. That the City Manager is herewith designated as the City's re- presentative in the conduct of the South Bay Regional Burglary Team and is authorized to furnish information, execute documents, make expenditures and perform associated administrative functions within the scope of authority granted bar this resolution. The City Manager may designate other employees as necessary to assist him in these duties. 3. That the grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant on-going law enforcement expenditures. 4. That in the conduct of this Project, the City will comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of January , 1975.
