CC RESOLUTION 2597. -4 ! r v j RESOLUTION NO. 2 597 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR A TWO PERCENT INCREASE IN SALARIES ON AND AFTER JANUARY 1, 1975 AND AMENDING THE OVERTIME PROVISIONS FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. WHEREAS, on July 2, 1974 the City Council adopted Resolu- tion No. 2567, entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING CERTAIN ADJUSTMENTS IN SALARIES AND OTHER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR CERTAIN EM- PLOYEES OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT., implementing certain employment benefits set forth in the E1 Segundo Firemen's Association Memorandum of Understanding 1974 -75 dated June 25, 1974; and WHEREAS, on July 2, 1974 the City Council instructed the City Attorney to prepare a resolution implementing additional benefits and conditions of employment to become effective January 1, 1975 for certain members of the Fire Department; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Resolutions Nos. 2522, as amended, and 2567, on and after January 1, 1975 members of the Fire Department in the following classifications shall be compensated at a rate two percent higher than the rates shown in said Resolutions Nos. 2522 and 2567: 1. Fire Captain 2. Fire Engineer 3. Fireman 4. Fireman - Special Assignment Inspector. SECTION 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of Sections 15,, 00, 15. 10, 15.20 and 15. 30 of Resolution No. 2522, members of the Fire Depart- ment holding the classifications of: 1. Fire Captain 2. Fire Engineer 3. Fireman 4. Fireman - Special Assignment Inspector shall on and after January 1, 1975 be entitled to overtime pay in accordance with the following conditions: OVERTIME PAY. Fire Department employees shall be subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act. Overtime pay at the rate of one and one- half times the employees' rate of pay shall be paid to non - exempt employees in accordance with the requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adop- tion of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said city; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
