A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISH-
ING A SALARY PLAN FOR CERTAIN MANAGEMENT
AND CONFIDENTIAL CLASSIFICATIONS.
WHEREAS, the City Manager has submitted to the City Council
for approval a proposed salary plan dated June 28, 1974 for twenty -three
management and confidential classifications; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the proposed salary
plan for certain management and confidential classifications dated June 28,
1974, and desires to adopt this resolution to implement the provisions of said
plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That notwithstanding the provisions of Section 2. 00
and subsection (D) of Section 3 of Salary Resolution No. 2522, as amended, on
and after July 1, 1974, the following respective range numbers and minimum
and maximum salaries are hereby allocated and assigned to the respective
management and confidential classifications hereinafter set forth opposite
each range number and classification:

SECTION 2. That notwithstanding the provisions of Sections 10. 00
and 11. 00 of Salary Resolution No. 2522, on and after July 1, 1974, progression
through the salary ranges shall be based on evaluation of an individual's perfor-
mance; there shall be no automatic step progression and no longevity steps; and
the implementation of this plan shall not cause a reduction in the salary any
employee received as of June 30, 1974.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager shall evaluate and fix the salaries
of the employees in the classifications set forth in Section 1 of this resolution.
He shall first consult with the department heads of those employees who do not
report directly to him before fixing the salaries of such employees.
SECTION 4. That notwithstanding the provisions of Sections 15. 00
and 15. 20 of Salary Resolution No. 2522, on and after July 1, 1974, Manage-
ment- Confidential employees to whom said sections apply shall not be paid
overtime pay for hours worked in addition to forty hours each week.
SECTION 5. That on and after July 1, 1974, Management - Confidential
employees shall be granted three days executive leave with pay each year which
may be used for personal business, attendance at educational courses, or for
additional vacation, and such leave may not be accrued.
SECTION 6. That Management - Confidential employees shall receive
the employment benefits extended to general government employees, except as
provided herein or as provided by law.

SECTION 7. That Police Captains and Fire Battalion Chiefs
shall continue to receive the amount of educational incentive pay they
received as of June 30, 1974, however, said benefits shall not be increased
thereafter. On and after July 1, 1974, Employees appointed to said classifi-
cations shall continue to receive the amount of educational incentive pay they
received at the time of appointment to said classifications, but said benefits
shall not be increased thereafter.
SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolu-
tions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof
in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes
of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
