A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING
CERTAIN ADJUSTMENTS IN SALARIES AND OTHER
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR CERTAIN EM-
PLOYEES IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City Council on July 6, 1973, accepted a Memo-
randum of Understanding with the E1 Segundo Police Officers' Association
dated July 6, 1973; and
WHEREAS, the City Council did incorporate the 1973 -74 salary
adjustments and conditions of employment of said Memorandum of Under-
standing into Salary Resolution No. 2522; and
WHEREAS, certain provisions of said Memorandum of Understand-
ing require compensation and benefit adjustments for the Fiscal Year 1974 -75;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Resolution No. 2522,
as amended, on and after July 1, 1974, each member of the Police Department
in the following classifications shall be compensated at a rate of 10.4 percent
higher than the rate shown in said Resolution No. 2522, based on the percentage
increase in the Los Angeles /Long Beach Consumer Price Index between May
1973 and May 1974:
1. Police Detective
2. Police Desk Clerk
3. Police Dispatcher Clerk
4. Police Lieutenant
5. Police Sergeant
6. Policeman
7. Policeman - Special Assignment
8. Policewoman
9. Police Cadet.
SECTION 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 19. 00 of
Resolution No. 2522, as amended, on and after July 1, 1974 members of the
Police Department in the classifications enumerated in Section 1 of this resolu-
tion who are regularly required to work on holidays shall be paid for eighty -
eight hours in lieu of holidays once a year on or about the tenth day of Decem-
ber.
SECTION 3. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 26. 10 of
Resolution No. 2522, as amended, on and after July 1, 1974 members of the
Police Department in the classifications enumerated in Section 1 of this reso-
lution shall accumulate vacation time in accordance with the following schedule:
1. Ninety -six hours each year with full salary for the first
seven years of continuous service with the city;
2. One hundred thirty-six hours each year with full salary
after seven years and until the completion of fourteen
years of continuous service;
3. One hundred seventy -six hours each year with full salary
after fourteen years of continuous service.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adop-
tion of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions
of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in
the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes
of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
