CC RESOLUTION 2526RESOLUTION NO. 2526 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES TO CONSOLIDATE A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO TO BE HELD ON JUNE 4, 1974, WITH THE STATEWIDE PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON JUNE 4, 1974, PURSUANT TO SECTION 23303 OF THE ELECTIONS CODE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of El Segundo has called a special municipal election in the City of E1 Segundo to be held on June 4, 1974, for the purpose of the election of a City Clerk of said City for the term of office which ends in March 1976; WHEREAS, it is desirable that said special municipal election be consolidated with the statewide primary election to be held on the same date and that within the City of E1 Segundo the precincts, polling places and election officers of the two elections be the same, and that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles canvass the returns of the special municipal election and that said statewide primary election and special municipal election be held in all respects as if there were only one election; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETER- MINE AND ORDER, AS FOLLOWS; Section 1. That pursuant to the requirements of Section 23302 of the Elections Code, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles be and it hereby is requested to consent and agree to the consolidation of a special municipal election with the statewide primary election on Tuesday, the 4th day of June, 1974, for the purpose of the election of a City Clerk of said City for the term of office which ends in March 1976. Section 2. Said Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized to canvass the returns of said special municipal election which it is hereby requested to consolidate with said statewide primary election and said election shall be held in all respects as if there were only one election, and only one form of ballot shall be used. Section 3. Said Board of Supervisors is hereby requested to issue instructions to the Registrar of Voters to take any and all steps necessary for the holding of said consolidated election. Section 4. The City of El Segundo recognizes that additional costs will be incurred by the County by reason of this con- solidation and agrees to reimburse the County for any such costs. Section 5. That the Acting City Clerk of the City of El Segundo is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Board of Supervisors and the Registrar of Voters of the County of Los Angeles.
