CC RESOLUTION 2474RESOLUTION NO. 2474 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMEND- ING RESOLUTION NO. 2458 (THE SALARY RESO- LUTION) BY ADDING SECTION 24.05 THERETO RELATING TO SICK LEAVE PAY FOR FIRE DEPART- MENT EMPLOYEES WHO WORK SHIFTS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 24. 05 is added to Resolution No. 2458 (The Salary Resolution) to read as follows: "SECTION 24.05 SICK LEAVE: LEAVE WITH PAY DUE TO ILLNESS: ACCUMULATION OF SAME: FIRE DEPARTMENT SHIFT WORK. Sick leave with pay may be granted for an absence from duty because of personal illness, injury, or legal quarantine not compensable under the provisions of the Workmen's Compen- sation Laws of the State of California. Members of the Fire Depart- ment in the positions enumerated in subsection "(C) SAFETY SERIES" of Section 3 of this resolution who work shifts shall accumulate sick leave at the rate of one twelve -hour day accumulation for each month's service, not to exceed a maximum of 1584 hours. Hours worked in addition to a regular work week shall not entitle an employee to addi- tional sick leave accumulation. Sick leave taken by an employee shall be deducted from his accumulated credit. " SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original reso- lutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
