RESOLUTION NO. 2442
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, CHANGING
THE SALARIES FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES.
WHEREAS, on June 1, 1972, a Memorandum of Understanding
was entered into between the City's authorized representatives and the
E1 Segundo City Employees' Association which Memorandum of Understand-
ing provided as follows:
"Memorandum of Understanding
"The undersigned representatives of the E1 Segundo City Employees'
Association, on behalf of all employees represented by the Associa-
tion, and the undersigned representatives of the El Segundo City
Council agree to recommend to the Council the following salary and
benefit changes:
1. Effective July 1, 1972 salaries of all classifications repre-
sented by the Association shall be increased 3.8 percent.
2. The classifications of Account Clerk, Senior Account Clerk
and Supervising Account Clerk shall be increased an additional 2 per-
cent.
3. The City shall pay the premium cost for basic health and
medical insurance for the employee and one dependent of the employee,
provided the amount payable by the City will not exceed the present
premium of $32. 68 per month plus an increase of 10 percent. The
City will consult with employees through the insurance committee
and consider all suggestions and presentations on the types of insur-
ance plan or plans to be purchased. The City reserves the right to
determine the insurance carrier with whom the City will contract
for coverage.
4. Effective July 1, 1972, employees covered by this agree-
ment shall accumulate vacation in accordance with the following
schedule:
a. Twelve days per year for the first seven years of continu-
ous service with the City.
b. Seventeen days per year between seven and fourteen years
of continuous service.
C. Twenty -two days per year after fourteen years of continu-
ous service.
Vacation time shall accrue on a monthly basis. Vacation leaves
may be taken only after an employee has completed one year's
continuous service.
5. The City will permit two officers of the Association one day
leave with pay per year to attend a CLOCEA seminar or conference.
it The agreements contained in this memorandum were negotiated in good
faith between the parties hereto. It is understood that they will become
"effective only if approved by the E1 Segundo City Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. On and after July 1, 1972, all persons holding posi-
tions in the classified service in the following classifications:
(A) OFFICE SERIES:
8. PBX Operator- Receptionist
9. Police Records Supervisor
10. Stenographer Clerk
10.1 Stenographer Clerk (Temporary)
11. Senior Stenographer Clerk
12. Secretary
13. Senior Secretary

shall be compensated at a rate 3. 8 percent higher than the rate established
pursuant to Resolution No. 2397.
SECTION 2. On and after July 1, 1972, all persons holding posi-
tions in the classified service in the following classifications:
(A) OFFICE SERIES:

3. Senior Account Clerk
4. Supervising Account Clerk
shall be compensated at a rate 5. 8 percent higher than the rate established
pursuant to Resolution No. 2397.

SECTION 3. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 26. 00
of Resolution No. 2397, effective July 1, 1972, each officer and employee
holding a position enumerated in Sections 1 and 2 of this resolution shall
accumulate vacation time in accordance with the following schedule:
1. Twelve days per year for the first seven years of continu-
ous service with the City;
2. Seventeen days per year after seven years and until the
completion of fourteen years of continuous service;
3. Twenty -two days per year after fourteen years of continu-
ous service.
Vacation time shall accrue on a monthly basis. Vacation leaves may be
taken only after an employee has completed one year's continuous service.
SECTION 4. Two officers of the El Segundo City Employees'
Association to be designated by the Association shall each be permitted one
day leave with pay during a fiscal year commencing July 1 and ending June 30
of the following year to attend a seminar or conference of the California League
of City Employee Associations.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adop-
tion of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions
of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in
the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes
of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
