CC RESOLUTION 2428�i ♦J RESOLUTION NO. 2428 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO AMEND SECTIONS 5.08. 410 AND 20. 08.225 OF THE "EL SEGUNDO MUNICIPAL CODE" WHICH SAID SECTIONS RELATE TO HOME OCCUPA- TIONS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City Council declares that it is its intention to amend the provisions of the "E1 Segundo Municipal Code" rela- ting to home occupations in the following manner: By amending Section 5. 08. 410 of the "E1 Segundo Municipal Code" to read as follows: "5.08.410 HOME OCCUPATIONS. Home Occupations as defined in Chapter 20.08 of this Code shall pay a license fee of $12. 00 per year. " and By amending Section 20. 08.22 5 of the "El Segundo Municipal Code" to read as follows: "20.08.225 HOME OCCUPATION. 'Home Occupation' shall mean a use in any of the following categories: consultant, ser- vices rendered off the premises, bookkeeping, typing and general office work, washing, ironing, babysitting, mail order and tele- phone sales, photography, design and drafting services, handcrafts and arts, which is clearly incidental and a secondary use conducted within the residential dwelling by the occupant in compliance with the following conditions: (1) Not more than one hundred square feet located in the dwelling shall be devoted to the home occupation; (2) There shall be no display of inventory, supplies, mater- ials or merchandise on the premises; (3) No persons shall be employed other than the immediate members of the family who reside on the premises; (4) No signs in connection with the home occupation, lighted or unlighted, shall be placed on the premises; (5) The home occupation shall not preempt the required off - street parking spaces; (6) The home occupation shall not generate vehicular traffic not normally associated with residential uses; (7) No home occupation shall be permitted that creates noise, odor, dust, vibration, fumes, smoke, electrical interference or other objectionable conditions not normally associated with a resi- dential occupancy; _i 9:�, "(8) Notwithstanding the foregoing limitations on home occu- pations, until December 31, 1972 home occupations shall also include home occupations lawfully in existence on February 28, 1972, pur- suant to Section 20. 08.225 as the same read on February 28, 1972. " SECTION 2. That the City Council hereby refers this resolution and its intention as it is declared in Section 1 hereof to the Planning Commis- sion for its consideration and directs that the Planning Commission hold hear- ings and give notice thereof and file a report with the City Council all in the time, form and manner required by law. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolu- tions of said city; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
