RESOLUTION NO. 2363
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ASCERTAIN-
ING AND DETERMINING PREVAILING RATES OF
WAGES TO BE PAID ON PUBLIC WORKS IN THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AND REPEAL-
ING RESOLUTIONS NOS. 2301 AND 2353.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 1773. 3 of
the Labor Code of the State of California, it is necessary that the City
Council of the City of E1 Segundo ascertain and determine the general
prevailing rates of wages on public works; and by the provisions of said
Code, it is mandatory upon the awarding body of any public improve-
ment to ascertain and determine the general prevailing rates of per
diem wages in the locality in which the work is to be performed, for
each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the con-
tract awarded in said city for public works, and also the general pre-
vailing rates for legal holidays and overtime work for each craft or
type of workman and mechanic;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo
has ascertained and does hereby determine that the general prevailing rates
of per diem wages in the City of El Segundo (the locality in which the work
is to be performed) in the matter of public works for each craft or type of
workman or mechanic needed to execute the contracts for said works, and
also the general prevailing rates for legal holidays and overtime work for
each craft or type of workman or mechanic, to be in accordance with the
"1970 - WAGE SCALES FOR THE SIX BASIC TRADES, " in accordance with
the terms of the Southern California Master Labor Agreement for the construc-
tion industry and the "SUB- TRADES HOURLY WAGE RATES OF BUILDING AND
CONSTRUCTION TRADE UNIONS, " affiliated with the Los Angeles Building
and Construction Trades Council, which are hereunto attached, designated
respectively as "Exhibit A" and "Exhibit B, " and are hereby referred to and
by this reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
There is hereby added to the prevailing wage rates set forth in
"Exhibit A" and "Exhibit B" hereof, additional prevailing wage rates for water

well drillers which is attached hereto and designated "Exhibit C, " and which
is hereby referred to and by this reference incorporated herein and made a
part hereof.
Provided that one and one -half (1 -1/2) times the said prevailing
rate of wage shall be paid for any time more than eight hours during any one
calendar day where such work is required in case of extraordinary emergency
caused by fire, flood or danger to life or property; and rates of pay for Satur-
days, Sundays, and holidays shall be as recognized in the collective bargain-
ing agreement applicable to the particular craft, classification or type of
workman employed on the project.
That Resolution No. 2301, passed and adopted on the 26th day of
January, 1970, and Resolution No. 2353 passed and adopted on the 9th day of
November, 1970, are hereby repealed.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
resolution; shall enter the same in the book of resolutions of said city, and
shall make a minute of the adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings
of the City Council of said city in the minutes of the meeting at which the same
is passed and adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 28th day of December,
1970 .

WAGE SCALES FOR THE SIX BASIC TRADES
The wage rates listed below are in accordance with the terms of the
Southern California Master Labor Agreement for the Construction Industry and
cover the following counties: Los Angeles. Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino,
Imperial, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Kern, Inyo and Mono.
ADDITIONAL COST ITEMS: For Subsistence Allowance, Transportation and
Travel Time Allowance, Overtime, Apprentice Program Contributions, Industry
Promotional Funds, Administrative Funds, Cash Bond Deposits, etc., contact
the Local Union or its District Council having jurisdiction.
RIGGERS and WELDERS FOR THE SIX BASIC TRADES: Same wage scales
as crafts to which rigging and welding are incidental.
CARPENTERS
Health & Welfare -51¢ per hour
Pension -65¢ per hour
Vacation Savings - Holiday -45¢ per hour
Foreman: Receives not less than 60¢_per hour more than the hourly rate of
the highest Carpenter classification over which he has responsibility,
excluding "Pneumatic Nailer or Power Stapler'.

*The Union may elect at its option upon at least sixty days' written notice
prior to May 1, 1971, 1972 and 1973, to allocate up to a maximum of ten cents
(10¢) per hour of the above listed amounts to each or all of the fringe benefit
plans.
Men working from a bos'n's chair, swinging scaffold, or suspended from a rope
or cable, shall receive 25¢ per hour above the applicable journeyman or
apprentice rate.
