RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 2351
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING
ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION AND
ABANDONMENT OF A CERTAIN PORTION OF PARK
PLACE WITHIN SAID CITY.
The City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, pur-
suant to the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of 1941", being Part 3
of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,
does hereby resolve, declare, determine and order as follows:
SECTION 1. That it is the intention of the City Council of the
City of E1 Segundo, California, to order the vacation and abandonment of a
certain portion of Park Place, within said city, which is more particularly
described as follows:
That parcel of land in Section 18, Township 3 South, Range 14
West, in the Rancho Sausal Redondo, in the City of El Segundo,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, as shown on the map
filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court Case No. 11629 on
June 21, 1890, a copy of which map appears in the files of the
County Surveyor of said County, as Clerk's Filed Map No. 218,
described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the Westerly line of the parcel of land
described in the agreement between Standard Oil Company of
California and Manhattan Properties, Inc., recorded on Decem-
ber 17, 1959 in book D696, page 37 of Official Records, in the
office of the County Recorder of said County distant South 0 °00' 04"
East along said Westerly line, 390. 28 feet from the most North-
erly corner of said last mentioned parcel of land; thence South-
easterly along a non - tangent curve, concave Southwesterly and
having a radius of 767. 00 feet, a radial of said curve to said
point of beginning bears North 9° 01' 35" East, through a central
angle of 0° 41' 20 ", an arc distance of 9.22 feet to a point in the
Westerly line of Park Place (width varies) as described in an ease-
ment deed to the City of E1 Segundo recorded July 6, 1965, as
instrument No. 2930, in book D2966, page 354 of said Official
Records, which Westerly line is described in said easement deed
as being a curve concave easterly, having a radius of 51. 00 feet,
a central angle of 204° 31' 45" and a length of 182. 06 feet and
which last mentioned point is the true point of beginning for this
description; a radial of said 767. 00 feet radius curve to said true
point of beginning bears North 9° 42' 55" East and a radial of said
51. 00 feet radius curve to said point bears North 84° 43' 05" West;
thence continuing Southeasterly along said 767. 00 feet radius curve
through a central angle of 7° 46' 30 ", an arc distance of 104.08 feet
to the beginning of a compound curve, concave Southwesterly and
having a radius of 198. 58 feet; thence Southeasterly along said curve
through a central angle of 25° 01' 45 ", an arc distance of 86. 75 feet
to the Northwesterly terminus of a tangent line, which line is that
certain course in the Southwesterly line of Park Place, 60 feet wide,
described in said easement deed to the City of E1 Segundo as having
a bearing and length of "North 47° 28' 50" West, 367. 48 feet "; thence
along said Southwesterly line of Park Place as follows: Westerly

along a tangent curve, concave Southerly and havin a radius
of 95.00 feet, through a central angle of 67° 021 59', an arc
distance of 111. 17 feet; and Westerly and Northerly along a
reverse curve concave Easterly and having a radius of 51. 00
feet, through a central angle of 119° 48' 44 ", an arc distance
of 106. 65 feet to the true point of beginning.
Containing therein 4,180 square feet.
For further particulars as to the proposed vacation of said por-
tion of Park Place, reference is hereby made to map, entitled "MAP SHOW-
ING PORTION OF PARK PLACE PROPOSED TO BE VACATED UNDER
RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 2351 ", on file and open to public inspec-
tion in the office of the City Clerk of the City of El Segundo, California, in the
City Hall of said city.
SECTION 2. That the hour of 7 :00 P. M., on Monday, Novem-
ber 9 , 1970, in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, 350 Main Street,
in said city, be and the same is hereby fixed as the time and place when and
where any and all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vaca-
tion of said portion of said public street may appear before said City Coun-
cil and be heard and offer testimony and submit evidence in relation thereto.
SECTION 3. That the Superintendent of Streets of the City of
El Segundo, California, be and he is hereby directed to cause "NOTICE OF
STREET VACATION (PORTION OF PARK PLACE) AND OF PUBLIC HEAR-
ING THEREON ", to be posted as required by the said "Street Vacation Act
of 1941", being Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California; and the City Council of said city hereby elects to proceed
under the provision of said Act.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this resolution, and shall cause the same to be published once in
the El Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published
and circulated in said city and hereby designated for that purpose by the said
City Council.
