CC RESOLUTION 2305A10 73 6 RESOLUTION NO. 2305A A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, REQUEST- ING THE LOS ANGELES CITY PLANNING COM- MISSION TO DESIGNATE A CERTAIN AREA OF THE LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AS A QUIET ZONE TO PROTECT THE ADJACENT RESI- DENTIAL DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO. WHEREAS, the City of Los Angeles is currently considering a Master Plan for the development of the Los Angeles International Air- port; and WHEREAS, the proposed Master Plan provides those portions of the airport adjacent to the residential property in the City of Los Angeles as a quiet zone; and WHEREAS, the proposed Master Plan provides those portions of the airport adjacent to residential areas in the City of El Segundo for maintenance shops, fueling facilities, and other offensively noisy opera- tions; and WHEREAS, the residents of E1 Segundo are entitled to at least the same consideration given the residents of Los Angeles; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, requests the Los Angeles City Plan- ning Commission to designate that portion of the Los Angeles International Airport bounded by Runway 25L, Imperial Highway, Pershing Drive, and Sepulveda Boulevard, as a quiet zone to protect the residential area of the City of El Segundo from unnecessary exposure to excessive noise. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
