CC RESOLUTION 2156102,1-1 RESOLUTION NO. 2156 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, URGING THE DELETION OF FREE- WAY ROUTE #1 (PACIFIC COAST FREEWAY) BETWEEN FREEWAY ROUTE #90 AND ARTESIA BOULEVARD. WHEREAS, the City of E1 Segundo, California, is vitally concerned and interested in all matters pertaining to highways and traffic in and through the Centinela -South Bay area, and; WHEREAS, Route #1 Freeway (Pacific Coast Freeway) has been deleted southerly of Artesia Boulevard through the Cities of Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach, and; WHEREAS, the inclusion of Route #107 (Hawthorne Freeway) has been adopted to serve this area of the South Bay, and; WHEREAS, Freeway Routes #405, #107 and #142 (San Diego, Hawthorne and Century Freeways, respectively) will adequately serve that area of the South Bay; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of El Segundo, California, strongly recommends that the section of Route #1 (Pacific Coast Freeway) between Route #90 Freeway and its terminus at Artesia Boulevard be deleted from the California Freeway and Express- way System.
