CC RESOLUTION 211010195 RESOLUTION NO. 2110 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE PUBLIC NECESSITY AND AUTHORIZING THE CONDEMNATION FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES HEREIN DESCRIBED FOR THE IMPROVEMENT AND EXTENSION OF DOUGLAS STREET. WHEREAS, an action in condemnation appears necessary for the acquisition of easements for street purposes over and across the real property hereinafter described; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND DE- TERMINE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the public interest and necessity require the acquisition of easements for public street purposes over and across the real property in the City of El Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows: PARCEL 1: That portion of the Northeast quarter of Section 18, Town- ship 3 South, Range 14 West, in the Rancho Sausal Redondo, in the City of El Segundo, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as shown on the map filed in Case No. 11629 Superior Court of said County, on June 21, 1890, in the office of the County Clerk of said County, a copy of which map appears in the files of the County Surveyor of said County, as Clerk's Filed Map No. 218, described as follows: Beginning at the northeast corner of said Section 18, as shown on a Record of Survey filed in book 63 page 37 of Record of Surveys, in the office of the county recorder of said County, and also as shown on the map of Tract No. 26556, recorded in book 675 pages 93 and 94 of Maps, in said office of the county recorder; thence along the north line of said Section 18, North 89° 55t 25" West 1352. 58 feet to the center line intersection of El Segundo Boulevard (100 feet wide) and Douglas Street (76. 00 feet wide), as shown on said map of Tract No. 26556; thence South 00 03t 52" West along the center line of said Douglas Street 2219. 92 feet to a point in the northwesterly right of way line of the Pacific Electric Railway Company (80 feet wide), as shown on said map of Tract No. 26556, said point being the true point of beginning; thence South 621 25t 32" West along said north- westerly right of way line 42. 89 feet to a point in the west- erly line of said Douglas Street; thence South 0° 03t 52" West along the southerly prolongation of said westerly line of Douglas Street 103.44 feet more or less, to a point in the northwesterly right of way line of the Atchison, Topeka and -I- 10196 Santa Fe Railway Company (60 feet wide), said line being 60 feet (measured at right angles), northwesterly of and parallel with the southeasterly right of way line of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company (60 feet wide), as shown on map of Tract No. 26557, recorded in book 675 pages 95 to 98 of Maps, records of said county; thence North 43° 25t 53" East along said northwesterly right of way line 110. 68 feet to a point in the southerly prolonga- tion of the easterly line of said Douglas Street; thence North 01 031 52" East along said southerly prolongation of said easterly line of Douglas Street 62. 78 feet more or less, to a point in the said northwesterly right of way line of the Pacific Electric Railway Company; thence South 620 25t 32" West along said northwesterly right of way line 42. 90 feet to the true point of beginning. SECTION 2. That the City of El Segundo is hereby authorized and empowered to acquire by condemnation, in the name of the City of El Segundo to be used for public street purposes, easements to the said properties in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and of the Constitution of California relating to eminent domain. SECTION 3. That Auten F. Bush, City Attorney, is hereby authorized to prepare and prosecute in the name of the City of El Segundo, such proceeding or proceedings in the proper court having jurisdiction thereof, as are necessary for such acquisition, and in connection therewith to incur on behalf of said City any and all reasonable expenses and charges, including the procuring of title reports and appraisals as may be convenient or required in said matter; and to prepare and file such pleadings, docu- ments, briefs and other instruments, and to make such arguments and generally take such action as may be necessary in the opinion of said attorneys to acquire for said City the easements to said real properties.
