RESOLUTION NO. 1973 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPT- ING THE PROPOSAL OF TIDEWATER OIL COM- PANY FOR FURNISHING THE OIL AND LUBRI- CANT REQUIREMENTS TO SAID CITY FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR, BEGINNING AUGUST 15, 1961. WHEREAS, the City Manager has heretofore requested quotations on the oil and lubricant requirements for the City of El Se- gundo for a period of one year, beginning August 15, 1961; and WHEREAS, said Manager has recommended that the pro- posal of Tidewater Oil Company, the low bidder, be accepted; and WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the recommenda- tion of said Manager and has reached its decision in the said matter; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the quotation of TIDEWATER OIL COM- PANY which said Council determines to be substantially as follows, to wit: "ITEM 1. pA prox. 550 Gal. VEEDOL MOTOR OIL Lubricating Oil, S. A. FLYING A WHITE GAS Appliance Gas, for the sum of $. 3262* per gal. Price includes only $. 06 per gal. State Motor Vehi- cle Tax and is applicable to minimum 200 -399 gal. deliveries, for 40 -199 gals., add $.035 per gal. ITEM 14. Approx. `850 Gal. FLYING A PETROLEUM SPIRITS Paint Thinner, for the sum of $. 2130 per Gal. (Ex Taxes) Price applicable to minimum 400 gal. deliveries; for 200- 399 gals. , add $. 03 per gal; for 40 -199 gals., add $. 065 per gal. ITEM 15. Approx. 100 Gal. FLYING A WHITE GAS Regular Nan- leaded Gasoline for the sum of $. 3612 per gal. Price applicable for deliveries of 40 -199 gallons. (Ex Taxes) ITEM 16. Approx. 50 gals. VEEDOL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION Transmission Type A, Oil, for the sum of $1. 029 (Ex Taxes) Type A 16 -gal, drums be and the same is hereby accepted at the prices therefor set forth in said proposal, which is now on file in the office of the City Manager of said City, and which said proposal so on file is hereby expressly referred to and by this reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof for all further particulars. SECTION 2. The Contractor, insofar as said Contractor is legally required so to do, must observe and abide by the provisions of all ME laws of the State of California and of the United States of America relating to contracts of the nature contemplated herein, whether herein specifically mentioned or not. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall prepare copies of this resolution after the passage and adoption thereof, and shall affix to such copies at the end thereof, after the Clerk's Certificate, forms for the approval of the contractor and on the part of the said City; and such copies of this resolution, so approved and accepted by the contrac- tor and by and on behalf of said City, shall constitute the contract for furnishing to said City its oil and lubricant requirements for a period of one year, beginning August 15, 1961, pursuant to the award herein above made; and the Mayor of the City of E1 Segundo is hereby autho- rized on behalf of said City to affix the approval and acceptance of said City to such contract, and said City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed to attest the same on behalf of said City and to affix the seal of said City thereto. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the pass- age and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the pass- age and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
