CC RESOLUTION 1932X603 RESOLUTION NO. 1932 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF TIDEWATER OIL COMPANY FOR FURNISHING THE OIL AND LUBRICANT REQUIREMENTS TO SAID CITY FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR, BEGINNING AUGUST 15, 1960. WHEREAS, the City Manager has heretofore requested quota- tions on the oil and lubricant requirements for the City of El Segundo for a period of one year, beginning August 15, 1960, and WHEREAS, said Manager has recommended that the proposal of Tidewater Oil Company be accepted, and WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the recommendation of said Manager and has reached its decision in the said matter, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the quotation of TIDEWATER OIL COMPANY which said Council determines to be substantially as follows, to wit: "ITEM 2. Approx. 550 Gal. VEEDOL MOTOR OIL Lubricating Oil, S.A.E. 20, equiva- lent to MIL- L -2104A or API classification M S. for the sum of $.524 per gal. (Ex- Taxes) (Full Drum) ITEM 3. Approx. 150 Gal. VEEDOL MOTOR OIL Lubricating Oil, S.A.E. 30, equiva- lent to MIL- L -2104A or API classification M.S for the sum of $.524 per gal. (Ex- Taxes) (Full Drum) ITEM 4. Approx. 100 Gal. VEEDOL MOTOR OIL Lubricating Oil, S.A.E. 40, equiva- lent to MIL- L -2104A or APl classification M.S. for the sum of $.524 per gal. (Ex- Taxes) (Full Drum) ITEM 5. Approx. 50 Gal. VEEDOL MOTOR OIL Lubricating Oil, S.A E. 10, equivalent to MIL- L -2140A or API classification M.S. for the sum of $.524 per gal. (Ex- Taxes) (Full Drum) ITEM 6. Approx. 345 lbs. MULTIGEAR LUBRICANT A.P. Gear Lubricant S.A.E. 90 and shall comply with U.S. Army Specification No. 2 -1056 Lubricant Gear Universal, for the sum of $.132 per lb. (Ex- Taxes) 120# Non- returnable container. ITEM 7. Approx. 60 lbs. U. W. LUBRICANT MEDIUM Universal Joint Grease (soda soap grease) for the sum of $.1725 per lb. (Ex- Taxes) 35# bucket ITEM 8. Approx. 200 lbs. VEEDOL ALL PURPOSE GREASE A. P. Chassis Lubricating ;t.,a 1 Grease with a lithium or Barium Base for the sum of $.165 per lb. (Ex- Taxes) 35# bucket. ITEM 9. Approx. 50 lbs. U. W. LUBRICANT MEDIUM Wheel- bearing Grease, (soda soap grease) for the sum of $.1725 per lb. (Ex- Taxes) 35# bucket. ITEM 10. Approx. 75 lbs. AMBROKUP Cup Grease (lime soap grease of medium hardness) for the sum of $.149 per lb. (Ex- Taxes) 35# bucket. ITEM 11. In lieu of above items #8- 9 -10 -11 Approx. 350 lbs. all purpose grease (Alternate Bid). $.1535 per lb. (Ex- Taxes) Veedol All Purpose grease (120# Containers) ITEM 12. Approx. 100 Gal. AUDUBON 23 Hydraulic Oil #20 for the sum of $.379 per gal. (Ex- Taxes) Full Drum. ITEM 13. Approx. 400 GaL BURNBRITE Kerosene, for the sum of $.182: per gal. (Ex- Taxes) Kerosene shall be of satisfactory burning quality and shall have a flash point of not less than 115 degrees Fahrenheit. *For Minimum 400 gallon deliveries. For 200 -399 gallons add $.03 per gallon and for deliveries of 40 to 199 gals., add $.06 per gallon. ITEM 14. Approx. 200 Gal. PRESSURE APPLIANCE FUEL Appliance Gas, for the sum of $.302'= per gal. *Includes only $.06 per gallon State Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax. Price applicable to deliveries of 200 -399 gallons. For deliveries of 40 -199 gallons, add $.005 per gallon. ITEM 15. Approx. u50 Gal. PETROLEUM SPIRITS Paint Thinner, for the sum of $.215-' per Gal. (Ex- Taxes) *Price applicable to deliveries of 400 gallons. For deliveries of 200 -399 gallons, add $.03 per gal is for deliveries of 40 -199 gals., add $.06 per gallon. ITEM 17. Approx. 50 Gals. VEEDOL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID TYPE A Trans- mission Type A, Oil, for the sum of $1.029 (Ex -Tax) (16- gallon drum) Per gal.", be and the same is hereby accepted at the prices therefor set forth in said proposal, which is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and which said proposal so on file is hereby expressly referred to and by this reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof for all further particulars. SECTION 2. The Contractor, insofar as said Contractor is legally required so to do, must observe and abide by the provisions of all laws of the State of California and of the United States of America relating to contracts of the nature contemplated herein, whether herein specifically mentioned or not. - 2 - SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall prepare copies of this resolution after the passage and adoption thereof, and shall affix to such copies at the end thereof, after the Clerk's Certifi- cate, forms for the approval of the contractor and on the part of the said City; and such copies of this resolution, so approved and accepted by the contractor and by and on behalf of said City, shall constitute the contract for furnishing to said City its oil and lubricant requirements for a period of one year, beginning August 15, 1960, pursuant to the award hereinabove made, and the Mayor of the City of El Segundo is hereby authorized on behalf of said City to affix the approval and acceptance of said City to such contract, and said City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed to attest the same on behalf of said City and to affix the seal of said City thereto. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution, shall original resolutions of said City, and age and adoption thereof in the record Council of said City in the minutes of is passed and adopted.
