A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ASCERTAIN-
ING AND DETERMING PREVAILING RATES OF WAGE
TO BE PAID ON PUBLIC WORKS IN THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AND REPEALING RESO-
LUTION NO. 1806.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 1773
of the Labor Code of the State of California, it is necessary
that the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo ascertain and
determine the general prevailing rates of wage on public works;
and by the provisions of said Code, it is mandatory upon the
awarding body of any public improvement to ascertain and de-
termine the general prevailing rates of per diem wage in the
locality in which the work is to be performed, for each craft
or type of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contracts
awarded in said city for public works, and also the general
prevailing rates for legal holidays and overtime work for each
craft or type of workman and mechanic;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of El
Segundo has ascertained and does hereby determine that the
general prevailing rates of per diem wage in the City of E1
Segundo (the locality in which work is to be performed) in the
matter of public works for each craft or type of workman or
mechanic needed to execute the contracts for said works, and
also the general prevailing rates for legal holidays and over-
time work for each craft or type of workman or mechanic, to be
in accordance with the "WAGE SCALES FOR THE SIX BASIC TRADES,"
in accordance with the terms of the Southern California Master
Labor Agreement for the construction industry and the Sub- Trades
Hourly Wage Rates of Building and Construction Trades Unions

affiliated with the Los Angeles Building and Construction Trades
Council, which are hereunto attached, designated respectively
as "Exhibit All and "Exhibit B," and are hereby referred to and
by this reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
Provided that one and one -half (1 -1/2) times the said
prevailing rate of wage shall be paid for any time more than 8
hours during any one calendar day where such work is required
in case of extraordinary emergency caused by fire, flood or danger
to life or property and for time on Sundays and holidays recog-
nized in the collective bargaining agreement applicable to the
particular craft, classification or type of workman employed on
the project.
That Resolution No. 1806, passed and adopted on the
28th day of April, 1958, shall be and the same is hereby re-
pealed.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adop-
tion of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of
resolutions of said city, and shall make a minute of the adop-
tion thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City
Council of said city in the minutes of the meeting at which the
same is passed and adopted.
