CC RESOLUTION 1894RESOLUTION NO. 1894 WHEREAS, by Public Law 655, 84th Congress (70 Stat. 493, the Federal government has authorized the donation of surplus Federal property for civil. defense purposes; and WHEREAS, certain conditions are imposed by the Federal Civil Defense Administration, the Department of Health, Education and Wel- fare, the California Disaster Office, and the Surplus Property Division of the State Department of Education in connection with the acquisition of such property; and WHEREAS, the City of E1 Segundo desires to become eligible to acquire such property; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED by the City Council of said City that John J. Sailors, Director, and V. L. Wood, Assistant Director, shall be and are hereby authorized as the representatives of said City to sign for and accept surplus Federal property in accordance with the conditions imposed by the above agencies; and IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of this Council is hereby authorized and directed to send two (2) certified copies of this Resolution to the California Disaster Office, for filing with said Di- saster Office and with the State Department of Education; and IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution of authorization shall remain in full force and effect until superseded, or rescinded, by resolution of this Council transmitted in duplicate to the California Disaster Office. ATTEST: Clerk ordorl $ Meschrelr, Frederick, Benfield ; 2 _^ Mayor Chairman, Board of ervisors I, 7, City Clerk of the City of El Segundo, do hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true, and correct copy of a resolution duly adopted by the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, on the ��day of (Seal) Cerk ze-,( G R E E M E N T THIS AGREEMENT entered into this 1st day of October, 1958, by and between the STATE OF CALIFORNIA, acting by and through its duly appointed, qualified and acting Director of the California Disaster Office, hereinafter called CDO, and the undersigned political sub- ' division, hereinafter called Agency; W I T N E S S E T H• WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 1894 of the City Council of the City of El Segundo, State of California, passed and adopted on the loth day of December , 19 59, Agency signified its intention to participate in the civil defense surplus property pro- gram and desires to continue to participate; and WHEREAS, CDO finds it necessary to employ additional personnel in order to render adequate service to the cities and counties in connection with the civil defense surplus property program; NOW,THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed between the parties hereto as follows: 1. CDO agrees to provide technical and clerical assistance to Agency at the three surplus property warehouses located in North Sacra- mento, San Leandro and Los Angeles. In order to compensate State for this additional service, CDO will invoice Agency, not less often than quarterly, for 10% of the service and handling charges assessed by the Educational Agency for Surplus Property on any items purchased, and Agency agrees to pay CDO for such charges within sixty (60) days of date of each invoice. 2. This Agreement shall commence on the 1st day of October, 1958, and shall terminate on the 31st day of December, 1962, subject to the right of either party to terminate the Agreement by giving the other party written notice at least 30 days prior to such termination.
