RESOLUTION NO. 1892
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING
A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS IN
RELATION TO THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT REFERRED
TO IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1891
AND DIRECTING THE CLERK OF SAID CI L
TO GIVE NOTICE OF SAID HEARING.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, in Resolution No. 1$$5 of said Council, pursuant
to the provisions of the "Street Lighting Act of 1919" of the
State of California (Part 1 of Division 14 of the Streets and
Highways Code of said State), as amended, and particularly as
contemplated under the provisions of Section 18041 of said law
and under the alternative procedure for installment assessments
provided for in Chapter 8 of said "Street Lighting Act of 1919",
did require the City Engineer of said City to make and file with
the Clerk of said Council a report in writing, presenting cer-
tain matters relating to a proposed lighting maintenance and
service district for Maryland Street and Other Streets in said
City, as contemplated, under the provisions of said "Street
Lighting Act of 1919 ";
AND, WHEREAS, the City Engineer, pursuant to the
requirements of said City Council, expressed in said Resolution
No. 1$85 and of said law, did make and on the 20th day of November,
1959 did file in the office of the City Clerk (who is Ex- officio
Clerk of the City Council) of said City his report in writing
responsive to the requirements of the said Resolution No. 1885
and of said law relating to the proposed lighting maintenance
and service district in said City, referred to in said Resolu-
tion No. 1885 and as contemplated under the provisions of said
"Street Lighting Act of 1919 ";
AND, WHEREAS, the said City Council has proceeded to
carefully examine, inspect and consider the said report and has

afforded all persons interested an opportunity to be heard
with reference thereto, and is satisfied with said report
and with each and all of the various items thereof and the
matters therein set forth;
AND, WHEREAS, said City Council in Resolution No.
1890 did approve said report on the 23rd day of November, 1959,
in conformity with the provisions of said "Street Lighting
Act of 19191t;
AND, WHEREAS, after the approval of said report and
in conformity with the provisions of said "Street Lighting Act
of 1919 ", said City Council did duly and regularly adopt its
Resolution of Intention No. 1891 entitled:
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS IN-
TENTION UPON HEARING DULY HELD TO ORDER CER-
TAIN LIGHTING FIXTURES AND APPLIANCES ON
MARYLAND STREET AND OTHER STREETS WITHIN SAID
CITY, TO BE INSTALLED. ";
AND, WHEREAS, it now becomes the duty of said Council
to appoint a time and place for hearing protests in relation to
the proposed improvement referred to in said Resolution of Inten-
tion No. 1891 and to direct the giving of notice of said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of E1 Se-
gundo, California, does hereby resolve, declare and determine as
follows:
SECTION 1. That Monday, the 28th day of December, 1959,
at the hour of seven o'clock (7:00) P.M. of said date, be and the
same is hereby appointed as the time and the Council chamber in
the City Hall of the City of E1 Segundo, California, is hereby
appointed as the place for hearing protests in reference to the
said proposed improvement.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk (who is Ex- officio Clerk
of the City Council) is hereby authorized, designated and directed
to give notice of said hearing in time, form and manner as required
by law.

SECTION 3. That the "El Segundo Herald ", a weekly
newspaper of general circulation published and circulated
within said City of El Segundo, California, is hereby designated
as the newspaper in which such notice shall be published by two
successive insertions.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the pass-
age and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the
Book of Resolutions of said city, and shall make a minute of the
adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City
Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the
same is passed and adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of November,
1959.
