A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS IN-
TENTION UPON HEARING DULY HELD TO ORDER CERTAIN
LIGHTING FIXTURES AND APPLIANCES ON MARYLAND
STREET AND OTHER STREETS WITHIN SAID CITY, TO
BE INSTALLED.
The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, Califor-
nia, does resolve, declare, and determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience
require and that it is the intention of the City Council of
the City of El Segundo, California, to order the following
work and improvement to be performed and made within said
City, to wit:
That all those certain lighting fixtures, appli-
ances and appurtenances, located on the portion of
the following named public streets within said City
and between the points as hereinafter designated,
(all as shown on Standard Plans of posts and fixtures
and Plan consisting of two (2) sheets hereinafter
referred to) be installed on
SIERRA STREET between Mariposa Avenue and Maple
Avenue and
LOMITA STREET between Mariposa Avenue and Maple
Avenue and
MARYLAND STREET between Mariposa Avenue and
Walnut Avenue and
BUNGALOW STREET between Mariposa Avenue and
Walnut Avenue and
MARIPOSA AVENUE between Bungalow Street and
Sierra Street and
PALM AVENUE between Bungalow Street and Sierra
Street and
MAPLE AVENUE between Bungalow Street and Sierra
Street and
WALNUT AVENUE between Bungalow Street and Mary-
land Street.
SECTION 2. All of the work and improvement above
specified shall be done in accordance with said Plans and Speci-
fications prepared by the City Engineer and heretofore approved
by the said City Council, which said Plans and Specifications
are now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City in
his office in the City Hall of said City, open to public inspec-
tion and hereby referred to and by this reference expressly in-

corporated herein, made a part hereof.
Said Plan, consisting of two (2) sheets, indicates
and shows by a boundary line the extent of said assessment
district and by colored areas the lots, pieces or parcels of
land included within said district but which are to be omitted
from the assessment hereafter to be made. Said Plan, so on
file and made a part hereof, shall govern for all details as
to the extent of said assessment district. Said Plan also
shows by appropriate markings, symbols and legends thereon the
various lighting fixtures and appliances to be maintained and
lighted for the period contemplated in this resolution, and
reference is hereby made to said Plan so on file for all further
particulars with reference thereto.
SECTION 3. Prior to the adoption of this Resolution
of Intention, the City Council of said City did, in accordance
with the provisions of the "Street Lighting Act of 1919" herein-
after referred to duly and regularly by Resolution No. 1$85 of
said Council, authorize, direct and order the City Engineer of
said City to make the preliminary report with reference to said
proposed improvement, as contemplated under the provisions of
Section 1801+1 of said "Street Lighting Act of 1919." Said City
Engineer did thereafter duly and regularly prepare and make said
preliminary report and did file the same with the City Clerk of
said City who duly and regularly presented said preliminary
report to the said City Council at its regular meeting on
November 23, 1959, for its consideration and for the considera-
tion of interested persons. Said City Council did thereupon
and on said 23rd day of November, 1959, prior to the adoption
of this Resolution of Intention, duly and regularly consider
the said preliminary report and afforded full opportunity to
all interested persons to address the Council with reference
thereto, and after such consideration did duly and regularly

tion with the center line of Maple Avenue; thence Southerly
along a line parallel to and 147 feet Easterly of the center
line of Bungalow Street to its intersection with the center
line of Palm Avenue; thence Southerly along a line parallel
to and 147 feet Easterly of the center line of Bungalow
Street to its intersection with the center line of Mariposa
Avenue; thence Westerly along the center line of Mariposa
Avenue to a point 145 feet Westerly of the intersection of
the center line of Mariposa Avenue and Sierra Street; thence
Northerly along a line parallel to and 145 feet Westerly of
the center line of Sierra Street to the center line of Palm
Avenue, the point of beginning, all in the City of E1 Segundo,
California.
Said City Council does hereby find, determine and
declare that no lots, pieces, parcels or areas of land, in-
cluded within the district declared by said Council herein -
above in this Resolution of Intention, to be the district to
pay the costs and expenses of said improvement, are in public
ownership within the meaning of Section 1$014 of said „Street
Lighting Act of 1919."
SECTION 5. That the improvement contemplated by
this Resolution of Intention shall be done under the provisions
of and in accordance with the provisions of the "Street Light-
ing Act of 1919" (now Part 1 of Division 14 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California), as amended, and under
the alternative procedure for installment assessments provided
for in Chapter 8 of said "Street Lighting Act of 1919."
SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in
the book of resolutions of said city, and shall make a minute of
the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceed-
ings of the City Council of said city in the minutes of the meet-
ing at which the same is passed and adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of November,
1959.

approve the said report of said City Engineer by Resolution
No. 1890 of said Council. Said Resolutions Nos. 1885 and
1890 and the said preliminary report of said City Engineer,
which is entitled: "City of E1 Segundo, Report on Street
Lighting for Maryland Street and Other Streets, as Required
by Resolution No. 1885 of the City Council of said City,„
dated November 20,1959 are all on file in the office of the
City Clerk of said City in the City Hall thereof and open
to public inspection, and said Resolutions Nos. 1885 and
1890 and said preliminary report, as so filed and approved,
are hereby referred to and by this reference expressly in-
corporated herein and made a part hereof for all further
particulars with reference thereto.
SECTION 4. That said contemplated work and improve-
ment, in the opinion of said City Council, is of more than
local or ordinary public benefit and said Council hereby makes
the expense of said work and improvement chargeable upon a
district, which said district said Council hereby declares
and designates to be the district benefited by said work and
improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses
(including all incidental expenses) thereof; said district is
bounded and described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at a point in the center line of Palm
Avenue, said point being 145 feet Westerly of the intersection
of the center line of Palm Avenue and Sierra Street; thence
Northerly on a line parallel to and 145 feet Westerly of the
center line of Sierra Street to its intersection with the
center line of Maple Avenue; thence Easterly along the center
line of Maple Avenue to a point 145 feet Westerly of the inter-
section of the center lines of Maple Avenue and Maryland Street;
thence Northerly along a line parallel to and 145 feet Westerly
of the center line of Maryland Street to the Westerly Northwest
corner of Lot 8, Tract 15692, Map Book 418, Pages 45 to 48 in-
clusive, Official Records of Los Angeles County; thence along
the Northwesterly line of said Lot 8 to the Northeasterly line
of said Lot 8; thence Easterly along the Northeasterly line of
said Lot 8 and along its Easterly prolongation to its inter-
section with the center line of Walnut Avenue; thence Easterly
along the center line of Walnut Avenue to a point 147 feet
Easterly of its intersection with the center line of Bungalow
Street; thence Southerly along a line parallel to and 147 feet
Easterly of the center line of Bungalow Street to its intersec-
