CC RESOLUTION 1874RESOLUTION NO. 1874 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF TIDEWATER OIL COMPANY FOR FURNISHING THE GASOLINE, OIL AND LUBRICANT REQUIREMENTS TO SAID CITY FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR, BEGINNING AUGUST 15, 1959. WHEREAS, the City Manager has heretofore requested quotations on the gaoline, oil and lubricant requirements for the City of El Segundo for a period of one year, be- ginning August 15, 1959; and WHEREAS, said Manager has recommended that the proposal of Tidewater Oil Company, the low bidder, be accepted; and WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the recom- mendation of said Manager and has reached its decision in the said matter; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the quotation of TIDEWATER OIL COMPANY which said Council determines to be substantially as follows, to wit: "ITEM 1. Approx. 60,000 Gal. Grade A premium ethyl gasoline (first structure) and to comply with the minimum requirements of Military Specifications equivalent to 100 Octaine A.S.T.M. Flying A 100 for the sum of $.2429 per gal. For minimum 400 gal. deliveries. ITEM 2. Approx. 550 Gal. VEEDOL Lubricating Oil, S.A.E. 20, equivalent to MIL- L -2104A or API classification M.S. for the sum of $.529 per Gal. (Full Drum). ITEM 3. Approx. 150 Gal. VEEDOL Lubricating Oil, S.A.E. 30, equiva- lent to MIL- L -2104A or API classification M.S. for the sum of 9.529 per gal. (Full Drum). ITEM 4. Approx. 100 Gal. VEEDOL Lubricating Oil S.A.E. 40, equivalent to MIL- L -2104A or API classification M.S. for the sum of $.529 per Gal. (Full Drum). - 1 - 111" i .l ITEM 5. approx. 50 Gal. VEEDOL Lubricating Oil, S.A.E. 10, equivalent to MIL- L -2140A or API classification M.S. for the sum of $.529 per gal. (Full Drum). ITEM 6. Approx. 345 lbs. Miltigear Lubricant A.P. Gear Lubricant S.A.E. 90 and shall comply with U.S. Army Specification No. 2 -105B Lubricant Gear Universal, for the sum of x.1325 per lb. (120 lb. Non - returnable container.) ITEM 7. Approx. 60 lbs. U.W. Lubricant Medium Universal Joint Grease (soda soap grease) for the sum of 93.174 per lb. (35# Bucker). ITEM 8. Approx. 200 lbs. VEEDOL ALL PURPOSE GREASE A.P. Chassis Lubri- cating Grease with a lithium or Barium Base for the sum of $.1665 per lb. (35# Bucket). ITEM 9. Approx. 50 lbs. U. W. LUBRICANT Medium Wheel - bearin Grease (soda soap grease) for the sum of x.174 per lb. (35 Bucketj. ITEM 10. Approx. 75 lbs. Ambrokup Cub Grease (lime soap grease of medium hardness) for the sum of 4"P.149 per lb. (35# Bucket). ITEM 11. In lieu of above items �8- 9 -10 -11 Approx. 350 lbs. all purpose grease (Alternate Bid) x$.155 per lbs. (Veedol All Purpose Grease) (120# Containers). ITEM 12. Approx. 100 Gal. Audubon 23 Hydraulic Oil #20 for the sum of $.3$5 per gal. (Full Drum). ITEM 13. Approx. 400 Gal Burnbrite Kerosene, for the sum of x$.1$2 per gal. Kerosene shall be of satisfactory burning quality and shall have a flash point of not less than 115 degrees Fahren- heit. (For minimum 400 gallon deliveries. For 200 to 399 allons, add $.03 per gallon and for 40 to 199 gallons, add .06 per gallon. ITEM 14. Approx. 200 Gal. Pressure Appliance Fuel, Appliance Gas, for the sum of 4.302 per gal. (includes only x.06 per gallon State Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax, price applicable for deliveries of 200 to 399 gallons; for deliveries of 40 to 199 gallons, add $.005. ITEM 15. Approx. $50 Gal. Petroleum Spirits Paint Thinner, for the sum of x$.1974 per Gal. (Price applicable to 400 gallons; for del- iveries of 200 to 399 gallons, add x$.03 per gallon; for 40 to 199 gallons, add $.06 per gallon. ITEM 17. Approx. 50 Gals. Veedol Automatic Transmission Type A, Oil, for the sum of $1.029 per gal.(16 gallon Drum)." - 2 - \ t . J be and the same is hereby accepted at the prices therefor set forth in said proposal, which is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and which said proposal so on file is hereby expressly referred to and by this reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof for all further particulars. SECTION 2. The Contractor, insofar as said Con- tractor is legally required so to do, must observe and abide by the provisions of all laws of the State of California and of the United States of America relating to contracts of the nature contemplated herein, whether herein specifically men- tioned or not. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall prepare copies of this resolution after the passage and adoption thereof, and shall affix to such copies at the end thereof, after the Clerk's Certificate, forms for the approval of the contractor and on the part of the said City; and such copies of this resolution, so approved and accepted by the contractor and by and on behalf of said City, shall constitute the contract for furnishing to said City its gasoline, oil and lubricant re- quirements for a period of one year, beginning August 15, 1959, pursuant to the award hereinabove made; and the Mayor of the City of E1 Segundo is hereby authorized on behalf of said City to affix the approval and acceptance of said City to such contract, and said City Clerk is hereby authorized and instruct- ed to attest the same on behalf of said City and to affix the seal of said City thereto. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said City; and - 3 - shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
