RESOLUTION NO. 1837
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE VA-
CATION (SUBJECT TO THE RESERVATION AND EX-
CEPTION OF CERTAIN EASEMENTS AND RIGHTS OF
WAY) OF A CERTAIN PORTION OF WALNUT AVENUE
AS CONTEMPLATED BY RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 1833 OF SAID CITY COUNCIL.
The City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California,
pursuant to the provisions of the "Street Vacation Act of 1941 ", be-
ing Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California, does hereby resolve, declare, find, determine and or-
der as follows:
SECTION 1. Said City Council, after public hearing duly
and regularly called, noticed and held, finds and determines from
all the evidence submitted, that a certain portion of Walnut Ave-
nue, within said city, described in Resolution of Intention No.
1833, is unnecessary for present or prospective public street pur-
poses.
SECTION 2. That the public interest and convenience
require, and it is hereby ordered, subject to the reservations and
exceptions hereinafter set forth, that that certain portion of
Walnut Avenue described as follows:
All that portion of Walnut Avenue shown on map
of Tract No. 1685, recorded in Map Book 21,
Page 98, in the office of the Recorder of Los
Angeles County, State of California, lying be-
tween the westerly line of Tract 1685 and the
westerly line of Hillcrest Street,
be and the same is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for
public street purposes, all as contemplated by Resolution No. 1833
of the City Council of the City of El Segundo, California, adopted
by said City Council on the 22nd day of September, 1958.
Reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention
No. 1833 and to the map or plan, entitled "MAP SHOWING PORTION OF
WALNUT AVENUE PROPOSED TO BE VACATED UNDER RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 18331f, referred to therein, both of which are on file and open

to public inspection in the office of the City Clerk in the City
Hall of said city, in said city, and both of which by this ref-
erence are incorporated herein and made a part hereof for further
particulars.
SECTION 3. The City Council does hereby determine that
the public convenience and necessity require the reservation of
the easements and rights of way for structures enumerated in Sec-
tion 8330 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of Cali-
fornia, and these proceedings are taken, subject to such reser-
vations and exceptions. The easements and rights of way hereby
reserved and excepted from the vacation are the following, to wit:
The permanent easement and right at any time or from
time to time, to construct, maintain, operate, re-
place remove and renew sanitary sewers and storm
drains and appurtenant structures, in, upon, over
and across any street, or part, or portion thereof
proposed to be vacated hereby and pursuant to any
existing franchises or renewals thereof, or otherwise,
to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove,
renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables,
wires, poles and other convenient structures, equip-
ment and fixtures for the operation of gas pipe lines,
telegraphic and telephone lines, railroad lines and
lines for the transportation or distribution of elec-
tric energy, petroleum and its products, ammonia,
water and incidental purposes, including access and
the right to keep the property free from inflammable
materials, and wood growth, and otherwise protect the
same from all hazards in, upon, and over the public
street proposed to be vacated hereby.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in

the book of original resolutions of said city; shall make a min-
ute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records and pro-
ceedings of the City Council of said city in the minutes of the
meeting at which the same is passed and adopted; and shall cause
a certified copy thereof, attested by the City Clerk under the
seal of said city, to be recorded in the office of the County
Recorder of Los Angeles County, State of California.
Passed, approved and adopted this 14th day of October,
1958.

gundo, California, do hereby certify that the whole number of
members of the City Council of the said city is five; that the
foregoing resolution, being Resolution No. 1$37, was passed and
adopted by the said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor
of said city, and attested by the City Clerk of said city, all at
a regular meeting of the said Council held on the 11th day of Octo-
ber, 1958, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Baker Frederick Gordon Meschuk and
Mayor Benfield
NOES: Councilmen None
