A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA DECLARING ITS INTENTION
TO ORDER THE VACATION tSUBJECT TO THE RESERVA-
TION AND EXCEPTION OF CERTAIN EASEMENTS AND
RIGHTS OF WAY) OF A CERTAIN PORTION OF WALNUT
AVENUE WITHIN SAID CITY.

hereby resolve, declare, determine
is the intention of the City Coun-
cil of the City of El Segundo, California, to order the vacation
(subject to the reservation and exception of easements and rights
of way as set forth hereinafter) of a certain portion of Walnut
Avenue within said city, described as follows:
All that portion of Walnut Avenue shown on map of
Tract No. 1685, recorded in Map Book 21, Page 98,
in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles
County, State of California, lying between the
westerly line of Tract 1685 and the westerly line
of Hillcrest Street.
For further particulars as to the proposed vacation of
said street, reference is hereby made to a maD entitled "MAP
SHOWING PORTION OF WALNUT AVENUE PROPOSED TO BE VACATED UNDER
RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 18331x, on file and open to public
inspection in the office of the City Clerk of the City of E1 Se-
gundo, California, in the City Hall of said city.
SECTION 2. The City Council does hereby determine that
the public convenience and necessity require the reservation of
the easements and rights of way for structures enumerated in
Section 8330 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California, and these proceedings are taken, subject to such re-
servations and exceptions. The easements and rights of way here-
by reserved and excepted from the vacation are the following, to
wit:

The permanent easement and right at any time or from
time to time, to construct, maintain, operate, replace,
remove and renew sanitary sewers and storm drains and
appurtenant structures, in, upon, over and across any
street, or part, or portion thereof proposed to be va-
cated hereby and pursuant to any existing franchises
or renewals thereof, or otherwise, to construct, main-
tain, operate, replace, remove, renew and enlarge lines
of pipe, conduits, cables, wires, poles and other con-
venient structures, equipment and fixtures for the
operation of gas pipe lines, telegraphic and telephone
lines, railroad lines and lines for the transportation
or distribution of electric energy, petroleum and its
products, ammonia, water and incidental purposes, in-
cluding access and the right to keep the property free
from inflammable materials, and wood growth, and other-
wise protect the same from all hazards in, upon, and
over the public street proposed to be vacated hereby.
SECTION 3. That the hour of 7 :00 o'clock P. M., on Tues-
day, October 14, 1958, in the Council Chamber in the City Hall,
350 Main Street, in said City, be and the same is hereby fixed
as the time and place when and where any and all persons inter-
ested in or objecting to the proposed vacation of said public
street may appear before said City Council and be heard and offer
testimony and submit evidence in relation thereto.
SECTION 4. That the Superintendent of Streets of the
City of E1 Segundo, California, be and he is hereby directed to
cause "NOTICE OF STREET VACATION (PORTION OF WALNUT AVENUE) AND
OF PUBLIC HEARING THEREON" to be posted as required by the said
"Street Vacation Act of 194111, being Part 3 of Division 9 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California; and the
City Council of said city hereby elects to proceed under the pro-
visions of said Act.

SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution, and shall cause the
same to be published once in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly news-
paper of general circulation, published and circulated in said
city and hereby designated for that purpose by the said City Coun-
cil.
Passed, approved and adopted this 22nd day of September,
1958.
