RESOLUTION NO. 171 4.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE
PUBLIC NECESSITY AND AUTHORIZING THE CON-
DEMNATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES FOR THE
WIDENING AND IMPROVEMENT OF EL SEGUNDO
BOULEVARD.
WHEREAS, the City of El Segundo has negotiated for the
acquisition of the easements for street purposes for the widening
and improvement of E1 Segundo Boulevard, and
WHEREAS, many of the necessary easements have been ob-
tained from the owners of the properties involved, but such ease-
ments have not been obtained from the owner of the properties
hereinafter described and it is necessary that said easements be
obtained without delay so that the work on said improvement may
proceed, and
WHEREAS, an action in condemnation appears necessary
for the acquisition of such easements;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SE-
GUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and necessity re-
quire the widening and improvement of certain portions of E1 Se-
gundo Boulevard in the City of E1 Segundo, California; and that
said public improvement is planned and located in a manner which
will be most compatible with the greatest public good and the
least private injury.
SECTION 2. That the public interest and necessity re-
quire the acquisition for street purposes of easements in, upon
and across that certain real property in the City of El Segundo,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows,
to -wit:

Parcel 7: The Southerly 10 feet of Lots 14 and 15,
Tract 2028, as per map recorded in Book
35, Page 37 of Maps.
SECTION 3. That the City of El Segundo is hereby au-
thorized and empowered to acquire by condemnation in the name of
the City of E1 Segundo, to be used for public street purposes,
easements in, over and upon the said properties in accordance
with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and of the
Constitution of the State of California relating to eminent domain.
SECTION 4. That Auten F. Bush, City Attorney, and Robt.
E. Rosskopf, Special Counsel, are hereby authorized to prepare
and prosecute in the name of the City of E1 Segundo such proceed-
ing or proceedings in the proper courts having jurisdiction there-
of, as are necessary for such acquisition; and in connection
therewith to incur on behalf of said City any and all reasonable
expenses and charges, including the procuring of title reports
and appraisals as may be convenient or required in said matters;
and to prepare and file such pleadings, documents, briefs and
other instruments and to make such arguments and generally take
such action as may be necessary in the opinion of said attorneys
to acquire for said City the easements to said real properties;
and to take such action as may be necessary during said proceed-
ings to acquire on behalf of the City an Order for Immediate Pos-
session of said easements. Said attorneys shall be reimbursed
their necessary expenses and any moneys advanced on behalf of the
City and shall be paid for their services the reasonable value
thereof, such charges to be audited and approved by the City Coun-
cil.
SECTION 5. Upon adoption of this resolution the City
Clerk is instructed to certify a copy thereof and forward the

same to Robt. E. Rosskopf, Esq., 8721 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles,
California.

resolution, being Resolution No. 1714 , was passed and adopted
by the said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said
City, and attested by the City Clerk of said City, all at a regu-
lar meeting of the said Council held on the 25th day of March,
1957, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following
vote:
