CC RESOLUTION 17059 RESOLUTION NO. 1705. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTIPIG CANCEL- LATION OF TAXES AND ASSESSINENTS ON CERTAIN PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY SAID CITY FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES, NAMELY THE DEDICATION OF ILLINOIS STREET AND HOLLY AVENUE. WHEREAS, the City of El Segundo, California, did here- tofore acquire the following described unimproved property within said City for public street uses and purposes, namely the dedi- cation of Illinois Street and Holly Avenue within said City, as hereinafter set forth by the following deeds, to wit: 1. A street deed from ACE WOODROW WILLIAMS and LORETTA BERNICE WILLIAMS, his wife, owners as joint tenants, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal corporation, to the following• described parcel: The west 25.00 feet of Lot 332, Block 123, and the south 25.00 feet of the west 70.13 feet of said Lot 332, Block 123; of El Segundo Sheet No. 8, as recorded on Pages 106 and 107 of Book 22 of Maps in the Office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting of August 27, 1956, and thereafter recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, in Book 52174 at Page 280 of Official Records, on file in said office, on the 30th day of August, 1956; 2. A street deed from A. A. McCRAY, Trustee, to the CITY of EL SEGUNDO, a municipal corporation, to the following; described parcel: The Aest 25.00 feet of Lot 331, Block 123; of El Segundo Sheet No. 8, as recorded on Pares 106 and 107 of Book 22 of Lbaps in the Office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, - 2 - which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting of October 22, 1956, and thereafter recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, in Book 52674 at Page 43 of Official Records, on file in said office, on the 24th day of October, 1956; and 3. A street deed from FLORIN H. SIEGEL, owner of an un- divided one -half interest, and STEPHEN E. CLAMAN, owner of an undivided one -half interest, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal corporation, to the following described parcel: The west 25.00 feet and the north 25.00 feet of Lot 333, Block 123; of El Segundo Sheet No. 8, as recorded on Pages 106 and 107 of Book 22 of .Zaps, in the Office of the County Recorder or Los Angeles County, California, which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City Coun- cil, on behalf of said City, at its adjourned regular meet - ing of November 30, 1956, and thereafter recorded in the office of the Recorder oC Los Angeles County, California, in Book 53041 at page 54, on December 5, 1956; Nod, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNTCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SE- GUIDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, FIND AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: FIRST: That said City does hereby certify that the said above described respective real properties have, since their said acquisition by said City, been reserved and used for public street purposes hereinabove set forth, and that said respective parcels of property are now being held and used, and will continue to be held and used, for said public street purposes; SECOND: That the said above described respective prop- erties were, at the time of acquisition thereof, and still are within the corporate limits of said City of E1 Segundo; THIRD: That the said above described real properties are essential to the said City for said public street purposes; - 2 - FOURTH: That the City Council of said City of E1 Se- gundo does hereby petition and request the Honorable Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County to order the cancellation of all taxes and all assessment liens leltally cancellable by the proper County officials pursuant to Section 4980 of the Revenue and Taxation Code o" the State of California, on the said above described parcels of real property, the whole of which, as above stated, are respectively devoted to public street uses and pur- poses hereinabove set forth in the preamble to this resolution; FIFTH: That the City Clerk of the City of E1 Segundo, California, be and she is hereby authorized and directed to im- mediately cause a certified copy of this resolution to be for- warded to said Honorable Board of Supervisors of said Los Angeles County as the petition and request of the City of E1 Segundo and of the City Council of said City for the cancellation of all of said taxes and all of said assessment liens so leally cancella- ble; and SIXTH: That said City Clerk be and she is hereby fur- ther authorized and instructed to supply any further necessary information and documents which ma,% be required in order to prompt- ly and effectively procure the cancellation of the taxes and assess- ment liens above referred to.
