A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 1621 (THE SALARY RESOLUTION) OF SAID COUNCIL BY AMENDING PARAGRAPH "(A)" OF SECTION 2 OF PART I. PARAGRAPH "(I)" OF SECTION 3 OF PART II, SUB- DIVISIONS 112," CITY OPERATION SAID RESOLUTIO TO BE KNOWN AS 1116.4" TO SAID OF SAID PART I AMENDED. "14," 1115," 1116" OF PARAGRAPH "(C) SERIES" OF SECTION 3 OF PART I OF V; BY ADDING FIVE NEW SUBDIVISIONS 112.1," 1116.1," 1116.2011 1116.3,11 PARAGRAPH "(C)" OF SAID SECTION 3 OF SAID RESOLUTION NO. 1621, AS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFOR- NIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That paragraph "(A)" of Section 2 of Part I of Resolution No. 1621 (the salary resolution) of said Council, passed and adopted on the 11th day of June, 1956, shall be and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows, to wit: "(A) Of the five steps set forth in the fore- going schedule, Step A contemplates six months' ser- vice in the classification of the employee; Steps B, Co D and E each contemplates one year's service in each of such classifications. The first advancement of a new employee from Step A shall be made at the beginning of the pay period next ensuing after the completion of his or her first six months of service. All other advancements shall be at the beginning of the pay period next ensuing after the anniversary date of the employee's assignment to a classification other than Step A. This date once established shall - 1 - remain unchanged irrespective of promotions or changes in classification. "That with respect to the "BASIC FIVE -STEP SALARY SCHEDULE," each employee of the City shall have the schedule number hereinafter designated for his classification and shall have the same step number in that classification that he last had in any classification prior to the adoption of this resolution." SECTION 2. That paragraph "(I)" of Section 3 of Part II of said Resolution No. 1621, shall be and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows, to wit: "(I) Any employee who works on any of the follow- ing holidays, to wit: January lst; February 12th; February 22nd; May 30th; July 4th; lst Monday in September (Labor Day); September 9th; October 12th; November 11th; Thanksgiving; and December 25th; shall be compensated therefor at the rate of two times the rate of his or her regular pay; provided, however, in the event any of the hereinbefore mentioned holidays falls on a Sunday or the last day of his or her regu- lar days off period the following day shall be observed as a holiday for the purpose of this section." SECTION 3. That subdivisions 112;1 "14," 1115," and It16" of paragraph 't(C) CITY OPERATION SERIES" of Section 3 Part I of said Resolution No. 1621, shall be and the same are hereby amended so as to read as follows, to wit: 112. Assistant Building Inspector 14" 1114. Gardener I 511 1115. Gardener II 71f lt16. Park Supervisor 14" SECTION 4. That five new subdivisions, to be known and designated as 112.1," t?16.19" 1116.2," "16.3," and "16.Wl shall - 2 - be and the same are hereby added to said paragraph II(C)" of Section 3 of Part I of said Resolution No. 1621, and which said new subdivisions shall read as follows, to wit: 112.1 Electrical Inspector 14" 1116.1 Nurseryman 7" "16.2 Tree Climber 7" 1116.3 Street Tree Leadman 9" 1,16.4 Landscape Gardener 10" SECTION 5. That this resolution shall take effect and be in full force and virtue on and after the 1st day of January, 1957• SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
