RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING CONTRACT
FOR CERTAIN STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN PENN
STREET IN SAID CITY AS DESCRIBED IN RESOLU-
TION OF INTENTION NO. 1612.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, did on the 11th day of September, 1956, publicly open,
examine and declare all sealed proposals or bids for certain
street improvement work in Penn Street in said city, as described
in Resolution of Intention No. 1612, which Resolution of Inten-
tion is hereby expressly referred to for a description of said
work and improvement and for all particulars relative to the pro-
ceedings under said Resolution of Intention;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SE-
GUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of E1 Se-
gundo, California, hereby rejects all of said proposals or bids,
except that herein mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for
doing said work and making said improvement to the lowest respon-
sible bidder, to wit: SULLY - MILLER CONTRACTING COMPANY ,
at the prices named in the bid of said bidder on file in the of-
fice of the City Clerk of said City.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to pub-
fish a notice of said award in the "E1 Segundo Herald ", a weekly
newspaper published and circulated in said city, said notice to
be published twice by two separate consecutive insertions in said
newspaper.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the Book
of Resolutions of said city, and shall make a minute of the adop-
tion thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council

of said city in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is
passed and adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 11th day of September,
1956.

California, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of
the City Council of said city is five; that the foregoing resolu-
tion, being Resolution No. 1658 , was duly passed and adopted
by the said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said
city, and attested by the City Clerk of said city, all at a regu-
lar meeting of the said City Council held on the llth day of Sep-
tember, 1956, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Baker, Frederick, Meschuk and
Mayor Benfield;
NOES: Councilmen None;
ABSENT: Councilman Gordon.
