CC RESOLUTION 1652RESOLUTION NO. 1652. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES LEVIED IN AND FOR SAID CITY, SUFFI- CIENT TO RAISE THE AMOUNT OF MONEY FIXED BY THE SAID CITY COUNCIL IN ORDINANCE NO. 494 THEREOF, PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1956, AND THE EXPENSE OF COLLECTION OF SAID AMOUNT, THE SAID RATES HEREIN FIXED BEING THE RATES OF TAXES IN AND FOR SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1956 -1957. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo, California, did, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 27th day of August, 1956, duly pass and adopt an ordinance, being Or- dinance No. 494 of said City, fixing the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property therein as a revenue to carry on the various departments of said City; pay its bonded indebtedness; meet its obligations under the California State Employees' Retirement Act; maintain the free public library of said City; and acquire, maintain and improve the public parks and recreational facilities of said City for the current fiscal year 1956 -1957, at the total sum of 9`996,19$.07; and WHEREAS, said Council estimates that the expense of collecting the above amount so fixed will amount to the sum of X2,677.97; and WHEREAS, it is now the duty of said City Council to fix the respective rates of taxes necessary to be levied within said City in order to raise the respective amounts of money necessary to be raised by taxation therein for the current fiscal year 1956 -1957; - 1 - NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUN- DO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the respective rates of taxes necessary to be levied upon the taxable property within the said City of E1 Segundo, California, and within the respective portions of the said City hereinafter referred to, in order to raise the amounts of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon such taxable property for the current fiscal year 1955 -1957, as a revenue to carry on the various departments of said City; pay its bonded indebtedness; meet its obligations under the California State Employees' Retirement Act; maintain the free public library of said City; and acquire, maintain and improve the public parks and recreational facilities of said City for said fiscal year; and the expense of collection of said amounts, shall be and the same are hereby fixed, established and levied as follows: In all those certain portions of said City of E1 Segundo, California, designated in Ordinance No. 152 of said City as "Tax District No. 111 and "Tax District No. 211, such rates on each $100.00 of the assessed valuation of tax- able property of the said portions of said City of El Segundo, shall be and the same are hereby fixed and es- tablished as follows: For carrying on the various departments of said City, at ----------------------- - -D.$2 For paying the bonded indebtedness of said City, at -- --- ----------- ------ - - ---- -147 For meeting and paying the obligations of said City to the State Employees' Re- tirement System under the provisions of the California State Employees' Retire- ment Act, at --- ----------- --------- - - - - -- .082 For maintaining the free public library of said City, at ------------------- - - - - -- .033 - 2 - For the acquisition, maintenance and im- provement of the public parks and recrea- tional facilities of said City, at --- - - - - -- .10 Making the total rate hereby levied for said Tax District No. 1 and Tax District No. 2 ------------------ ---- ------------- -- x1.182 SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted. Said City Clerk shall also immediately after the passage and adoption of this resolution, cause a copy thereof, duly certified, to be transmitted to the Auditor of Los Angeles County, California. Said City Clerk shall also, within fifteen (15) days after the passage and adoption of this resolution, cause it to be published at least once in the E1 Segundo Herald, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated within said City, and which is hereby designated for that purpose. SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect im- mediately. Passed, approved and adopted this 27th day of August, 1956.
