CC RESOLUTION 1649RESOLUTION NO. 1649 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF CENTURY OIL COMPANY FOR FURNISHING THE OIL AND LUBRICANT REQUIREMENTS TO SAID CITY FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR, BEGINNING AS OF AUGUST 15, 1956. WHEREAS, the City Manager has heretofore requested quotations on the oil and lubricant requirements for the City of El Segundo for a period of one year, beginning as of August 15, 1956; and WHEREAS, said City Manager has recommended that the proposal of Century Oil Company be accepted; and WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the recommendation of said City Manager and has reached its decision in the said matter; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALI- FORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the quotation of CENTURY OIL COMPANY which said Council determines to be substantially as follows, to wit: "Dear Sir: "The undersigned hereby proposes to furnish to the City of El Segundo, California, in said City, during the period August 15, 1956 to and inclusive of August 14, 1957, at midnight, the following petroleum products at the prices stated in the schedule below and all in accor- dance with the Specifications G.O. -5, heretofore approved and adopted by the City Council of said City and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, as follows, to wit: "ITEM 3. Approx. 500 Gal. DX -56 Lubricating Oil, S.A.E. 20, for the sum of .51 per Gal. "ITEM 4• Approx. 150 Gal. DX -56 Lubricating Oil, S.A.E. 30, for the sum of .51 per Gal. "ITEM 5. Approx. 50 Gal. DX -56 Lubricating Oil, S.A.E. 40, for the sum of .51 per Gal. "ITEM 6. Approx. 600 lbs. Gear Lubricant, for the sun of .1175 per lb. z ,t "ITEM 10a. In Lieu of above items 17- 8 -9 -10' Approx. 350 Lbs. all purpose grease. (Alternate Bid) .1175 per lb. "ITEM I1. Approx. 25 Gal. CENTURY Hydraulic Oil, for the sun of .62 per Gal. "ITEM 12. Approx. 300 Gal. CENTURY Kerosene, for the sum of .19 per Gal. "ITEM 13. Approx. 200 Gal. CENTURY Appliance Gas, for the sun of .339 per Gal. °ITEM ly. Approx. 500 Gal. Will be refunded if returned in good condition within ninety (90) days. State Sales and City Sales taxes not included. State Gasoline tax of six cents (.06) per gallon (Items #13 & #15) included. ", be and the same is hereby accepted at the prices therefor set forth in said proposal, which is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and which said proposal so on file is hereby expressly referred to and by this reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof for all further particu- lars. SECTION 2. The Contractor, insofar as said Contractor is legally required so to do, must bbserve and abide by the provisions of all laws of the State of California and of the United States of America relating to contracts of the nature contemplated herein, whether herein specifically mentioned or not. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall prepare copies of this reso- lution after the passage and adoption thereof, and shall affix to such copies 11111 the end thereof, after the Clerk's Certificate, forms for the approval of the Contractor and on the part of the said City; and such copies of this reso- lution, so approved and accepted by the contractor and by and on behalf of - 2 - said City, shall constitute the contract for furnishing to said City its oil and lubricant requirements for a period of one year, beginning as of the 15th day of August, 1956, pursuant to the award hereinabove made; and the Mayor of the City of El Segundo is hereby authorized on behalf of said City to affix the approval and acceptance of said City to such contract, and said City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed to attest the same on behalf of said City and to affix the seal of said City thereto. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original reso- lutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
