RESOLUTION ORDERING WORK NO. 1640
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE WORK DE-
SCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1610
The City Council of the City of El Segundo, California,
pursuant to the provisions of the »Improvement Act of 1911". be-
ing Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California, DOES RESOLVE as follows:
That the public interest and convenience require the
work hereinafter mentioned to be done and, therefore, the said
City Council hereby orders the following work to be done and im-
provements to be made in said city, to wit:
The grading and paving with asphaltic concrete, con-
struction of cement concrete curb, sidewalk, driveway approaches
or aprons, remove existing block wall and certain curb, and ap-
purtenant work in connection therewith in portions of Eucalyptus
Drive and other streets, all as more particularly described in
Resolution of Intention No. 1610, passed and adopted by the City
Council of said city on the 14th day of May, 1956, except as
changed and modified by Resolution No. 1639 adopted July 23,
1956, and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city.
For further particulars, reference is hereby made to
said Resolution of Intention No. 1610 and to the plans, profiles
and drawings No. 550617, Sheets 3 and 4, inclusive, and Standard
Street Drawing No. 550000, on file in the office of the City En-
gineer of said City of E1 Segundo, and to the specifications for
the said work heretofore adopted by the said City Council and on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said city and all of said
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications heretofore approved
by the City Council of said city are incorporated herein and made
a part hereof, and reference is hereby made thereto for a more
particular description of said work.

Said City Council has determined and declared that the
contemplated work and improvement heretofore mentioned was, in
the opinion of said City Council, of more than local or ordinary
public benefit and the said City Council has made the expenses of
said work chargeable upon a district. For the particular descrip-
tion of said district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution
of Intention No. 1610.
Said City Council has determined and declared that seri-
al bonds, bearing interest at the rate of six per cent (61o) per
annum and extending over a period ending nine (9) years from the
second day of January next succeeding the next October 15th fol-
lowing their date, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided
by the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being Part 5, Division 7 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, to represent
each assessment of twenty -five dollars ($25.00) or more remaining
unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the war-
rant.
Said City Council has determined and declared in said
Resolution of Intention No. 1610 that the city will pay out of its
General Fund the sum of $1,062.26 toward the cost and expense of
removing certain improvements, and a further sum of $1,111.25 de-
termined and declared in said Resolution No. 1629 adopted July 9,
1956, for the removal and replacement of certain sidewalk and
driveways. The liability and obligation to pay said sums, as pro-
vided in said resolutions shall accrue and become fixed upon the
date of confirmation of the assessment for said improvement.
All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried
through in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of
California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911 ". Division 7
of the Streets and Highways Code.
The Clerk of said city is hereby directed to post con-
spicuously for five (5) days on or near the chamber door of the

City Council, in the manner and form required by said Code, a No-
tice Inviting Sealed Proposals or Bids for doing the work herein
ordered, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish twice
in the "El Segundo Herald", a weekly newspaper published and cir-
culated in said city and hereby designated by the said City Coun-
cil for that purpose, a notice inviting such proposals or bids for
doing the said work and referring to the specifications, on file.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this resolution; shall enter the same in the Book of Resolu-
tions of said city, and shall make a minute of the adoption there-
of in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said
city in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed
and adopted.

the City Council of said city is five; that the foregoing resolu-
tion, being Resolution No. 1640, was duly passed and adopted by
the said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said
city, and attested by the City Clerk, all at a regular meeting of
the said City Council held on the 23rd day of July, 1956, and
that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
