NO. 1627
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE
WORK DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NC. 1616.
The City Council of the City of El Segundo, California,
pursuant to the provisions of the "Improvement Act of 19111t, being;
Division 7 of the Streets and :Highways Code of the State of Cali-
fornia, DOES RESOLVE as follows:
That the public interest and convenience require the
work hereinafter mentioned to be done and, therefore, the said
City Council hereby orders the following work to be done and im-
provements to be made in said city, to wit:
The grading, paving with 3 inch asphaltic concrete, re-
surfacing existing pavement with 1 -1/2 inch asphaltic concrete,
construction of cement concrete curbs, sidewalks and driveways,
removal of certain curbs, sidewalks and fences, relocate existing
fire hydrant, and appurtenant work in connection therewith in
Maple Avenue and other streets, all as more particularly described
in Resolution of Intention No. 1616 passed and adopted by the City
Council of said city on the 14th day of Play, 1956, and on file in
the office of the City Clerk of said city.
For further particulars, reference is hereby made to
said Resolution of Intention No. 1616 and to the plans, profiles
and drawings No. 560327, Sheets 3 to 5, inclusive, and Standard
Street Drawing No. 550000 on file in the office of the City Engi-
neer of said City of El Segundo, and to the specifications for
the said work heretofore adopted by the said City Council and on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said city, and all of said
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications heretofore approved
by the City Council of said city are incorporated herein and made
a part hereof, and reference is hereby made thereto for a more
particular description of said work.

Said City Council has determined and declared that the
contemplated work and improvement heretofore mentioned was, in
the opinion of said City Council, of more than local or ordinary
public benefit and the said City Council has made the expenses of
said work chargeable upon a district. For the particular descrip-
tion of said district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution
of Intention No. 1616.
Said City Council has determined and declared that serial
bonds, hearing interest at the rate of six per cent (60) per annum
and extending over a period ending nine (9) years from the second
day of January next succeeding the next October 15th following
their date, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by the
"Improvement Act of 191111, being Part 5, Division 7 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California, to represent each
assessment of twenty -five dollars ($25.00) or more remaining un-
paid for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrant.
Said City Council has determined and declared in said
Resolution of Intention No. 1616 that the city will pay out of its
General Fund the sus" of l ,349.60 toward the costs and expenses
of the removal and replacement of certain existing improvements,
and a further contribution of the sum of gp6,000.00 for the grading
and paving of Maple Avenue to be payable from said General Fund
as set forth in Resolution No. 1626, passed and adopted on the
25th day of June, 1956, making a total sum of $7,349.60. The
liability and obligation to pay said total sum, as provided in
said Resolution of Intention and Resolution No. 1626, shall accrue
and become fixed upon the date of confirmation of the assessment
for said improvement.
All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried
through in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of
California, designated the "Improvement Act of 191111, Division 7
of the Streets and Highways Code.

The Clerk of said city is hereby directed to post con-
spicuously for five (5) days on or near the chamber door of the
City Council, in the manner and form required by said Code, a
Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals or Bids for doing the work here-
in ordered, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish twice
in the "E1 Segundo Herald ", a weekly newspaper published and cir-
culated in said city and hereby designated by the said City Coun-
cil for that purpose, a notice inviting, such proposals or bids for
doing the said work and referring to the specifications on file.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this resolution; shall enter the same in the Book of Resolu-
tions of said city, and shall make a minute of the adoption there-
of in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said
city in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and
adopted.
