A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BID OF IRA
ESCOBAR, INC. FOR ONE CERTAIN DUMP TRUCK AS THE
BID MOST ADVANTAGEOUS TO CITY AND REJECTING ALL
OTHER BIDS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, has heretofore in the manner provided by law, duly and
regularly advertised for bids under a notice to bidders, entitled
"NOTICE INVITING BIDS ON AUTOMOTIVE EQUIPMENT ", dated March 12,
1956, which is now on file in the office of the City Clerk, open
to public inspection, and hereby referred to and by this reference
incorporated herein and made a part hereof, for furnishing said
City one new Dump Truck for use of the Street Department of said
City; and
WHEREAS, at the time fixed for opening and considering
said bids, to wit: the hour of 7 :00 o'clock P. M., on Monday, the
9th day of April, 1956, said Council did publicly open, examine
and declare all bids received; and
WHEREAS, at said time, said Council did refer said bids
to the City Engineer for checking and recommendation at the next
meeting of said Council to be held April 23, 1956; and
WHEREAS, last mentioned time has now arrived and the
said Engineer has made his recommendation to the said Council; and
WHEREAS, the said Council feels that the action herein-
after taken is in the best interest of said City;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SE-
GUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the bid of IRA ESCOBAR, INC., of E1
Segundo, California, dated April 9, 1956, which said Council de-
termines to be substantially as follows, to wit:

and which said bid was submitted in response to and under the terms,
conditions, provisions and requirements set forth in said "NOTICE
INVITING BIDS ON AUTOMOTIVE EQUIPMENT ", be and the same is hereby
accepted as the bid which meets the specifications called for and
will be most advantageous to the City for one new Dump Truck as set
forth in said notice inviting bids, at the bid price of $3,475.24,
including State and City Sales Tax; and the contract or purchase
order for said equipment is hereby awarded to said IRA ESCOBAR, INC.
accordingly. In the event that immediate delivery of said equipment
can be made, a purchase order may be issued therefor, and in such
case it will not be necessary to execute and deliver a formal con-
tract. Said bid is now on file in the office of the City Clerk

of said City, and said bid so on file is hereby expressly referred
to and by this reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof
for all further particulars.
SECTION 2. That all bids received under said notice in-
viting bids, with the exception of the said bid of IRA ESCOBAR,
INC. be and the same are hereby rejected; and the City Clerk is
hereby authorized and instructed to return the checks of all unsuc-
cessful bidders.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the pass-
age and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the original of
the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of the said City
of E1 Segundo, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption
thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of
said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed
and adopted.

meeting of the said Council held on the 23rd day of April, 1956,
and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Frederick, Gordon, Meschuk and Mayor
Benfield;
NOES: Councilmen None;
ABSENT: Councilman Baker.
