CC RESOLUTION 1593RESOLUTION NO. 1593 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO RELATING TO PROPOSED VEHICLE PARKING DISTRICT IN SAID CITY AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION ADOPTED FEBRUARY 14, 1956• WHEREAS, this City Council is advised that merchants and other persons interested in the central business district of the City of E1 Segundo propose to circulate and file with this City Council a petition for the formation of a vehicle parking district under the Vehicle Parking District Law of 1943; and WHEREAS, this City Council believes that the acquisition and improvement of parking lots in said central business area will be of benefit to the city as a whole and that therefore it is desirable that the city make a contribution toward the costs and expenses of the acquisitions and improvements to be proposed by such petition; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of E1 Se- gundo, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows: SECTION 1. That this City Council hereby declares that if a vehicle parking district is formed in the central business area of the City of E1 Segundo, it is the intention of this City Council to contribute a sum of not less than $20,000 toward the costs and expenses of the acquisitions and improvements made for such district. SECTION 2. This City Council hereby further declares that if such vehicle parking district is formed it is the in- tention of this City Council that certain property already owned by said city, to wit, Lots 1, 2 and 3. Block 41, E1 Segundo Sheet No. 1 will be improved by said city and will be used by said city for the purpose of public off - street parking. - 1 - SECTION 3. That the resolution adopted by this City Council on February 14, 1956, and appearing of record on Page $07 of Book "W" of the minutes, is hereby rescinded.
