A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING CANCEL -
LATION OF TAXES AND ASSESSMENTS ON CERTAIN
PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY SAID CITY FOR PUBLIC
STREET PURPOSES, NAMELY THE DEDICATION OF
WASHINGTON STREET, FRANKLIN AVENUE AND ILLI-
NOIS STREET.
JAEREAS, the City of El Se;_;undo, California, did hereto-
fore acquire the following described unimproved property within
said City for public street uses and purposes, namely the dedica-
tion of Washington Street, Franklin Avenue and Illinois Street
within said City, as hereinafter set forth by the following deeds,
to wit:
1. A street deed from MEYER N. MOSS and MARVLN ROSENBURG,
owners as joint tenants, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a munici-
pal corporation, to the following described parcels:
and
The north 25.00 feet and the west 25.00 feet of
Lot 293, the north 25.00 feet and the east 25.00
feet of Lot 308, the west 25.00 feet of Lots 294
and 295, and the east 25.00 feet of Lots 306 and
307, all in Block 123; of El Segundo Sheet No. 8,
as recorded on Pages 106 and 107 of Book 22 of
Maps in the office of the County Recorder of the
County of Los Angeles, California;
2. A street deed from AL GONZALES and ROSIE GONZALES,
his wife, owners of an undivided one -half interest, and
CHARLES SETTLE and HELEN SETTLE, his wife, owners of an
undivided one -half interest, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a
municipal corporation, to the following described parcels:
The east 25.00 feet of Lots 303, 304 and 305;
and the west 25.00 feet of Lots 345 to 351,
inclusive; and the south 25.00 feet of Lot 345;
and the north 25.00 feet of Lot 346, all in
Block 123; of El Segundo Sheet No. A, as re-
corded on Pages 106 and 107 of Book 22 of Maps
in the office of the County Recorder of the Coun-
ty of Los Angeles, California,

which deeds were duly and re <rularly accepted by the City
Council, on behalf of said City, at its re_ular meetin'=
of December 14, 1955, and thereafter recorded as one docu-
ment in tha office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County,
California, in Book 49844 at Page 240 of Officials Records,
on file in said office, on the 20th day of December, 1955;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUN-
DO, CALIFORMIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, FIND AND
ORDER AS FOLLOUTS:
FIRST: That said City does hereby certify that the said
above described respective real properties have, since their said
acquisition by said City, been reserved and used for public street
purposes hereinabove set forth, ard. that said respective parcels
of property are now being; held and used, and will continue to be
held and used, for said public street purposes;
SECOND: That the said above described respective prop-
erties were, at the time of acquisition thereof, and still are
within the corporate limits of said City of El Sep
*undo;
THIRD: That the said above described real properties
are essential to the said City for said public street purposes;
FOURTH: That the City Council of said City of El Sev'un-
do does hereby petition and request the Honorable Board of Super-
visors of Los Angeles County to order the cancellation of all taxes
and all assessment liens legally cancellable by the proper County
officials pursuant to Section 498E of the Revenue and Taxation
Code of the State of California, on the said above described par-
cels of real property, the whole of which, as above stated, are
respectively devoted to public street uses and purposes herein -
above set forth in the preamble to this resolution;
FIFTH: That the City Clerk of the City of El Segundo,
California, be and she is hereby authorized and directed to im-
mediately cause a certified copy of this resolution to be forwarded

to said Honorable Board of Supervisors of said Los An,e;eles County
as the petition and request of the City of El Segundo and of the
City Council of said City for the cancellation of all of said taxes
and all of said assessment liens so legally cancellable; and
SIXTH: That said City Clerk be and she is hereby fur-
Cher authorized and instructed to supply any further necessary in-
formation and documents which. may be required in order to promptly
and effectively procure the cancellation of the taxes and assess-
ment liens above referred to.
Passed, approved and adopted this 14th day of February,
1956.
