CC RESOLUTION 15454_ J RESOLUTION NO. 1544. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING CAN- CELLATION OF TAXES AND ASSESSMENTS ON CERTAIN PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY SAID CITY FOR PUELIC STREET PURPOSES, NAMELY THE WIDENING OF MAPLE AVENUE. WHEREAS, the City of El Segundo, California, did here- tofore acquire the following described properties within said City for public street uses and purposes, namely the widening of Maple Avenue within said City, as hereinafter set forth by the follow- ing deeds, to wit: 1. A road easement from SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY, a corporation, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal corporation, to the following described parcel: The Southerly 5 feet of the Westerly 13$.05 feet of Lot 9, Block 107, of E1 Segundo, Sheet 5, as per map re- corded in Book 20, pages 114 and 115, of Maps, and also being a portion of Lot 32, as said lot is shown on Map No. 8 of property of Southern California Edison Company Ltd., recorded in Book 3, pages 1 to 7, inclusive, of Official Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County, which easement was duly and regularly accepted by the City Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting of July 7, 1955, and thereafter recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Ange- les County, California, in Book 4$321 at Page 1$0 of Official Records, on file in said office, on the 12th day of July, 1955; and 2. A street deed from ROBERT K. BEATHARD and DOROTHY F. BEATHARD, owners as joint tenants, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal corporation, to the following described parcel: The northerly 5.00 feet of the North 105 feet of Lot 1, Block 111; E1 Segundo, Sheet 5, as recorded on Pages 114 and 115 of Book 20 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City Council, on - 1 - +.fry Fyn p j behalf of said City, at its regular meeting of July 27, 1955, and thereafter recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, in Book 45519 at Page 71 of Official Records, on file in said office, on the 1st day of August, 1955; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUN- DO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, FIND AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: FIRST: That said City does hereby certify that the said above described respective real properties have, since their said acquisition by said City, been reserved and used for public street purposes hereinabove set forth, and that said respective parcels of property are now being held and used, and will continue to be held and used, for said public street purposes; SECOND: That the said above described respective prop- erties were, at the time of acquisition thereof, and still are within the corporate limits of said City of E1 Segundo; THIRD: That the said above described real properties are essential to the said City for said public street purposes; FOURTH: That the City Council of said City of E1 Segun- do does hereby petition and request the Honorable Board of Super- visors of Los Angeles County to order the cancellation of all taxes and all assessment liens legally cancellable by the proper County officials pursuant to Section 4956 of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the State of California, on the said above described parcels of real property, the whole of which, as above stated, are respective- ly devoted to public street uses and purposes hereinabove set forth in the preamble to this resolution; FIFTH: That the City Clerk of the City of El Segundo, California, be and she is hereby authorized and directed to immedi- ately cause a certified copy of this resolution to be forwarded to said Honorable Board of Supervisors of said Los Angeles County as the petition and request of the City of E1 Segundo and of the City - 2 - _=k IL Council of said City for the cancellation of all of said taxes and all of said assessment liens so legally cancellable; and SIXTH: That said City Clerk be and she is hereby fur- ther authorized and instructed to supply any further necessary information and documents which may be required in order to prompt- ly and effectively procure the cancellation of the taxes and assessment liens above referred to.
