RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUP4CIL OF
THE CI'T'Y OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA,
AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE WORK
DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 1508
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of El Segundo,
California, having in open session on the 10th day of August, 1955,
publicly opened, examined and declared all sealed proposals or bids
for the following work to be done and improvements to be made in said
city, to wit:
The grading and paving with asphaltic concrete pavement,
construction of cement concrete curbs and sidewalks, construction of
driveway aprons, and appurtenant work in connection therewith, in portions
of Imperial Highway and other streets, all as more particularly des-
cribed in Resolution of Intention No. 1508 passed and adopted by the
City Council of said city on the 8th day of June, 1955, and on file in
the office of the City Clerk of said city.
For further particulars, reference is hereby made to said
Resolution of Intention No. 1508 and to the plans, profiles and drawings
No. 550401, Sheets 2 to 4 inclusive, and Standard Plan No. ST- 520610,
and to the specifications No. 550401 for the said work heretofore adopted
by the said City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk
of said city, and all of said plans, profiles, drawings and specifications
heretofore approved by the City Council of said city are incorporated
herein and made a part hereof, and reference is hereby made thereto for
a more particular description of said work.
Said City Council has determined and declared that the con-
templated work and improvement heretofore mentioned was, in the opinion
of said City Council, of more than local or ordinary public benefit
and the City Council has made the expenses of said work chargeable
upon a district. For the particular description of said district, ref-
erence is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 1508.

Said Council has determined and declared that serial bonds,
bearing interest at the rate of six per cent (6 %) per annum and extend-
ing over a period ending Nine (9) years from the second day of January
next succeeding the next October 15th following their date, will be
issued hereunder in the manner provided by the "Improvement Act of 1911"
being Part 5, Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State
of California, to represent each assessment of twenty -five dollars
($p25.00) or more remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date
of recording the warrant.
All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried
through in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of Calif-
ornia, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911ty being Division 7 of
the Streets and Highways Code.
Said City Council hereby rejects all of the said proposals
or bids, except the next hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards the
contract for the said work and improvement to the lowest, regular and
responsible bidder, to wit: to Oswald Bros. Co.
at the prices named in its bid, on file in the office of the City
Clerk of said city.
The City Clerk Of said city is hereby directed to cause a
NOTICE OF AWARD OF CONTRACT to be published in the manner and form re-
quired by said Code, by two insertions in the «E1 Segundo Heralds', a
weekly newspaper published and circulated in the City of E1 Segundo
and hereby designated for the purpose by the said City Council.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption
of this resolution; shall enter the same in the Book of Resolutions of
said city, and shall make a minute of the adoption thereof in the
records of the proceedings of the City Council of said city in the
minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of August, 1955.

the said City Council held on the 10th day of August, 1955, and
that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote:
