CC RESOLUTION 1526F1. RESOLUTION NO. 1526. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING CAN- CELLATION OF TAXES AND ASSESSMENTS ON CERTAIN PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY SAID CITY FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES, NAMELY THE WIDENING OF MAPLE AVENUE. WHEREAS, the City of E1 Segundo, California, did here- tofore acquire the following described properties within said City for public street uses and purposes, namely the widening of Maple Avenue within said City, as hereinafter set forth by the follow- ing deeds, to wit: 1. A street deed from JOSEPH ARTHUR BROCK and GLADYS SCHRIM- SHIRE BROCK, as joint owners, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a munici- pal corporation, to the following described parcel: The Southerly 5.00 feet of Lot 14, Block 107; E1 Segundo, Sheet No. 5, as recorded on Pages 114 and 115 of Book 20 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of the Coun- ty Recorder of the County of Los Angeles, California, which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting of March 9, 1955, and thereafter recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, California, in Book 47190 at Page 117 of Official Records, on file in said office, on the 15th day of March, 1955; 2. A street deed from NORRIS E. WINKELMAN and LUCILLE A. WINKELMAN, as joint owners, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal corporation, to the following described parcel: The Northerly 5.00 feet of Lot b, Block 110; of E1 Segun- do, Sheet 5, as recorded on pages 114 and 115 of Book 20 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of the Coun- ty of Los Angeles, California, which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting of May 11, 1955, and thereafter recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles - 1 - County, California, in Book 47798 at Page 54 of Official Records, on file in said office, on the 17th day of May, 1955; 3. A street deed from JOHN W. MORRISON and HELEN C. MORRI- SON, as joint owners, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a municipal cor- poration, to the following described parcel: The southerly 5.00 feet of Lot 9, Block 109, except the Easterly 5$.45 feet thereof; of E1 Segundo Sheet 5, as recorded on pages 114 and 115 of Book 20 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Los An- geles, California, which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting of May 25, 1955, and thereafter recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los An- geles County, California, in Book 47918 at Page 352 of Official Records, on file in said office, on the 31st day of May, 1955; and 4. A street deed from ROBERT M. FUNKHAUSER and DORIS C. FUNKHAUSER, as joint owners, to the CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, a munici- pal corporation, to the following described parcel: The southerly 5.00 feet of the East 58.45 feet of Lot 9, Block 109, except the North 1$8.80 feet thereof; of El Segundo Sheet 5, as recorded on pages 114 and 115 of Book 20 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles, California, which deed was duly and regularly accepted by the City Council, on behalf of said City, at its regular meeting of June 8, 1955, and thereafter recorded in the office of the Recorder of Los An- geles County, California, in Book 48059 at Page 239 of Official Records, on file in said office, on the 14th day of June, 1955; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SE- GUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, FIND AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: FIRST: That said City does hereby certify that the said above described respective real properties have, since their said acquisition by said City, been reserved and used for public street purposes hereinabove set forth, and that said respective parcels of property are now being held and used, and will continue to be held and used, for said public street purposes; - 2 - SECOND: That the said above described respective prop- erties were, at the time of acquisition thereof, and still are within the corporate limits of said City of El Segundo; THIRD: That the said above described real properties are essential to the said City for said public street purposes; FOURTH: That the City Council of said City of E1 Se- gundo does hereby petition and request the Honorable Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County to order the cancellation of all taxes and all assessment liens legally cancellable by the pro- per County officials pursuant to Section 4986 of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the State of California, on the said above de- scribed parcels of real property, the whole of which, as above stated, are respectively devoted to public street uses and pur- poses hereinabove set forth in the preamble to this resolution; FIFTH: That the City Clerk of the City of E1 Segundo, California, be and she is hereby authorized and directed to im- mediately cause a certified copy of this resolution to be for- warded to said Honorable Board of Supervisors of said Los Angeles County as the petition and request of the City of El Segundo and of the City Council of said City for the cancellation of all of said taxes and all of said assessment liens so legally cancell- able; and SIXTH: That said City Clerk be and she is hereby fur- ther authorized and instructed to supply any further necessary information and documents which may be required in order to prompt- ly and effectively procure the cancellation of the taxes and assessment liens above referred to.
