RESOLUTION NO. 1521
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR A
CONTRIBUTION TO THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DIS-
TRICT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SANITARY SEWERS
AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS IN CENTER STREET AND
OTHER STREETS AS PER RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 1435 ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 22, 1954•
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of E1 Segundo,
California, did on the 22nd day of September, 1954, adopt its
Resolution of Intention No. 1435 for the construction of certain
sanitary sewers and other improvements and appurtenant work in
Center Street and other streets in said city; and
WHEREAS, the proceedings for the construction of said
improvements were had and taken pursuant to the provisions of
"Improvement Act of 1911x, being Division 7 of the Streets and
Highways Code,of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the said Resolution of Intention No. 1435 pro-
vided among other things the construction of an eight (8) inch
vitrified clay pipe sewer trunk line commencing at the intersec-
tion of the center lines of Pine Avenue and Nevada Street thence
Westerly for a distance of approximately 190 feet along the cen-
ter line of Pine Avenue; thence Northwesterly, parallel to and 2
feet Northeasterly of the Northeast boundary of the Pacific Elec-
tric Railway Company's right of way,to a point 2 feet Westerly of
the East line of Center Street; thence Northerly along Center
Street to a point approximately 215 feet from said right of way;
thence Northwesterly a distance of approximately 40 feet to con-
nect with the existing sewer, all as particularly shown and indi-
cated on Sheet No. 8 of the plans referred to in said Resolution
of Intention No. 1435; and

WHEREAS, the said Resolution of Intention No. 1435 pro-
vides for a contribution by the city from its general fund of the
sum of $1,137.00 towards the costs and expenses of said sewer
trunk line and said sum so appropriated in said Resolution of In-
tention produces a public benefit for the entire city, apart from
the benefit to the special assessment district described in said
Resolution of Intention No. 1435; and
WHEREAS, it now develops that the actual costs of con-
structing said trunk line sewer hereinabove particularly described
was the sum of $3,320.00 or the sum of $2,183.00 more than the
amount of aid set forth in said Resolution of Intention No. 1435;
and
WHEREAS, it has been the policy of this City Council to
to pay for trunk line sewers that do not necessarily represent
an improvement to a special assessment district;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of
the City of E1 Segundo, California, as follows:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the authority vested in
this City Council under the provisions of Sections 5375 and 5551
of the "Improvement Act of 1911 *, Division 7 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, the City Council does
hereby determine and declare that the said City of E1 Segundo
shall contribute the sum of $2,183.00 in addition to the sum of
$1,137.00 set forth in said Resolution of Intention No. 1435 as
aid for the payment of a portion of the costs and expenses for the
construction of said sanitary sewer trunk line and other improve-
ments in Center Street and other streets, and that the payment of
said sum of $2,183.00, in addition to the sum of $1,137.00,shall
accrue and become fixed upon the date of the confirmation of the
assessment for the construction of said improvements under said
Resolution of Intention No. 1435•
SECTION 2. That the Superintendent of Streets of said
city be, and he is hereby, instructed to credit the assessment

hereafter determined to be proper for the improvements under Re-
solution of Intention No. 1435 with the sum of $2,1$3.00 in addi-
tion to the sum of $1,137.00 set forth as aid in said Resolution
of Intention, and that the balance of said costs and expenses be
assessed upon the assessment district described in said Resolu-
tion of Intention No. 1435.
SECTION 3. That the additional contribution of the sum
of $2,183.00, set forth in Section 1 hereof, shall be paid out
of the sewage facilities fund.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in
the book or original resolutions of said city; and shall make a
minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the
proceedings of the City Council of said city, in the minutes of
the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
Passed, approved and adopted this 22nd day of duly,
1955.

the City Council of the said City is five; that the foregoing
resolution, being Resolution No. 1521 , was passed and adopted
by the said City Council, approved and signed by the Mayor of said
City, and attested by the City Clerk of said City, all at an ad-
journed regular meeting of the said Council held on the 22nd day
of July, 19550 and that the same was so passed and adopted by
the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Frederick, Gordon, Swanson and
Mayor Selby;
NOES: Councilmen None;
ABSENT: Councilman Baker.
