CC RESOLUTION 1515a'. RESOLUTION NO. 1515 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING "SPECIFICATIONS G.O. -5 FOR THE FURNISHING OF GASOLINE, OIL, LUBRICANTS AND ASPHALTIC EMULSION TO THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALI- FORNIA". THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the following specifications, being, and to be known as "SPECIFICATIONS G.O. -5 FOR THE FURNISHING OF GASOLINE, OIL, LUBRICANTS AND ASPHALTIC EMULSION TO THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA ", be, and the same are hereby approved and adopted: "SPECIFICATIONS G.O. -5 FOR THE FURNISH- ING OF GASOLINE, OIL, LUBRICANTS AND ASPHALTIC EMULSION TO THE CITY OF EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA GASOLINE shall consist of one grade: Grade A Premium Ethyl (First Structure) summer and winter grades. This gaso- line must be of the sane quality as that regularly sold by the successful bidder to the general public, under the trade name of 'Ethyl' gasoline. Bidders must submit with their bids copies of their de- tailed specifications (form enclosed) on the gasoline which they propose to furnish; and further they must comply with the minimum requirements of Military Specifications equiva- lent to 90 Octane A.S.T.M., and must agree to pay for an independent laboratory analysis of their gasoline whenever the City of El Segundo feels that their current deliveries are not up to the standard called for. LUBRICATING OILS shall conform to the ratings of the Society of Automotive Engineers for the several grades to - 1 - yt`5 r be furnished and shall have a minimum viscosity index of 75, and shall be a mild detergent engine oil, equivalent to Military Specifications 0 -2104, or Navy Specifications 14 -0 -13A (9000 Series). GEAR LUBRICANTS for trucks and passenger automobiles shall comply with U. S. Army Specification No. 2 -105B Lubricant (sear Universal. Supplier to submit photostatic copy of certification of qualification for SAE SO and 90 grades, issued by the Department of the Army, Office of the Chief of Ordinance. Gear Oil to be supplied on weights of SAE 90 and 140. SAE 140 grade to be of the same type base oil and contain additives in same percentage as SAE 90 on which qualifi- cation has been received from U. S. Army Ordinance Depart- ment. Supplier to submit brand name and certified specifi- cations of gear oil to be furnished under the above speci- fications. CHASSIS LUBRICANT with a lithium or barium base and a minimum dropping; point of 300 degrees. UNIVERSAL JOINT GREASE shall be a soda soap grease. WHEELBEARING GREASE shall be a soda soap grease. CUP GREASE shall be a lime soap grease of medium hard- ness. FUEL OIL shall be a hydrocarbon oil, free from grit, acid, and fibrous or other foreign matter likely to clog or injure burners or valves. KEROSENE shall be of satisfactory burning quality and shall have a flash point of not less than 115 degrees Fahren- heit. ASPHALTIC EMULSION shall conform to the requirements of Section 56(a)(1), of 'Standard Specifications' of August, 1954, State of California, Department of Public Works, Divi- sion of Highways." - 2 - icd �.r SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall cause the origi- nal of the same to be entered in the book of resolutions of the said City of El Segundo, and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
